Casey followed Sigmund out into the hall, and he paused to look at the door to the room where Graham and Darby were staying. It was open just a crack, and he could hear their voices faintly but he couldn't make out what was being said.
"I haven't seen what Jeremiah looks like yet, I wonder if he looks the same or different," Graham noted, his voice relaxed and soft. "You know, you've never asked me what you look like as a wolf," he told Darby as he looked up at him, "Aren't you curious?"
"He's different, a lot different. They're night and day," Sigmund said as he pressed his hand to the door, letting it swing open. "It's pretty cute, actually." He stepped inside with a renewed willingness to be friendly.
"I'm a little curious about what I look like as a wolf," Darby admitted. "I suspect that I'm all black." Darby looked up at Sigmund and Casey and offered Casey a knowing little smile. "Heard you having sex. Nice," he teased. He wanted to be friends with Casey, to be honest. He thought they had something in common, though he wasn't sure about the human aspect of it. But at least with Casey he didn't have to worry about the whole dominance thing and his place in the pack.
When Darby addressed him like that, his cheeks flushed a bright pink and he grinned sheepishly. Of course they'd been heard, and probably not just by Graham and Darby. If Casey realized that not only could they be heard, but felt, maybe even smelled by the pack? He probably would have died of embarrassment.
"You're purple, bright purple," Graham said seriously, with a completely straight face. Before the joke could go on though, Sigmund stepped into the room, and Graham glanced over at him. He didn't say anything in reply to Darby or Sigmund's words.
