Cinna Thompson had almost single handedly pulled the prom together. The ballroom was decorated with festoons of floating flowers. Stars hung from the ceiling, each set to sparkle as if they were properly in the sky. The outskirts of the room were set with small round tables that could accommodate one or two couples. A table of refreshments was guarded at all times by Seamus Morgendorfer and a rotating cast of other faculty who volunteered to chaperon for the evening.
A glittery ballot box stood next to the entrance where students were set to write down their chosen prom king and queen and drop their tickets into the box. Students began to stream in after dinner to quiet music playing over the speakers. The band, a local group called Vampira was scheduled to begin playing around 7:30.
Needless to say it was going to be an excellent evening.
[OOC: Hop in where you will. Save for prom court, which we'll work on once all the votes are in.]

Prom Court
She cleared her throat into the microphone and adjusted her glasses to properly read the list. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen I hope you're having a lovely time thus far." After a round of quiet and polite clapping she continued. "I have been given the honor of announcing this year's prom court."
She allowed a dramatic moment to pass before continuing. "This year's court is comprised of two very lovely ladies and two fine gentleman. First I'd like to announce the ladies: Miss Rosana Cordozo Rios and Miss November Hall."
Once the girls had approached the small staging area and received their rosettes she continued. "Next is the gentleman: Mister Luka Nikitin and Mister Arnaud Powell." She clapped the boys up to stage and pinned the rosettes on their jackets.
"And of course, the great honor of the evening go to our prom king and queen. The votes were very close this year, but our prom king is Mister Hawthorne Nikitin!"
Once Hawthorne had accepted his crown Lucy pushed on. "And our prom queen for 2011 is Miss Cinnamyn Thompson!"
She skipped up to the staging area completely giddy and accepted her sash, the crown barely fitting over her enormous special-occasion hair. She waved at all her friends in the crowd, grinning so wide her face hurt. "Oh my god, this is like, killer!"
When Thorn was announced king she just laughed and shook her head. Who would have thought the two people most out of their element would be elected to prom court?
