The sandpocalypse is nigh!
Who: Everyone!
When: Friday July 8th
Where: South Beach, Miami
What: Cinna throws the first beach bash of the summer!
Rating: Xenu only knows.
School had been out barely a day before Cinna sent out a mass email inviting everyone ever to come hang out. She figured after Independence Day people would probably be sick of their families already, so proposed the weekend after that: a beach party on Friday and if anyone wanted to stay for the rest of the weekend they were more than welcome.
Friday couldn't come quickly enough. Part of the beach had been blocked off for them very early in the day, and Cinna's parents had very thoughtfully hired some entertainment-- a series of beach vans, one with ice creams and slushies, another with food, a third with a bar and an attendant paid to look the other way, and a little DJ booth on wheels.
The sky was endlessly blue, not a cloud in sight to spoil the day ahead, and the beach was clear and ready for the shenanigans to begin.

Thorn/Open
He flopped his towel down into the sand and set down his cooler of beers (that was magicked so that anyone over the age of 21 would see an interior filled with soda). He cracked another one open and continued on his debauched afternoon like a man on a mission.
He wanted to find someone to get wet with, even if that meant throwing himself into the ocean.
Thorn/November
She got a drink from one of the vans and started to meander out toward the water. She thought she might dip her feet in when she caught sight of one of her favorite blondes laid out on his own towel. She skipped over to Thorny and plunked down in the sand next to him. "Hey!" she said a little more enthusiastically than usual. "Have you been in yet?" she asked in reference to the water.
All he had to do was peel off his shirt and flops. The aviators stayed on no matter where he was. He'd already cast a charm that would prevent them from getting knocked off his face by any crashing waves or wild dancing.
He popped up and didn't wait for her to follow, barreling ahead into the waves and diving in once he was out far enough.
What he didn't intend was the larger fish he managed to summon along with them, some of which looked suspiciously like sharks. The larger fish headed toward November swimming alongside the littler ones.
"Oh fuck."
The little fish weren't a problem, with one sweep of her wand they scattered but the big fish was still coming at her. She hit it with a levitating charm, hoovering it just inches above the water and then she hit it with a shrinking spell. The fish shrunk and became exceedingly less dangerous looking. She breathed relief and stumbled back a step, the now small fish hit the water with a small splash. "A little overkill, n'est pas?" she asked still breathing heavily.
"Ow!" she jumped and looked down to see that the small shark looking fish had bit her side. "You ugly little motherfucker!" she said snatching the fish out of the water. She gave it a good toss further out into the ocean. She pressed her fingers to the bleeding wound. It wasn't terrible but she knew she had to cover it before she even thought about getting back into the water. "I gotta get this," she said heading back to the shore.
I'm sorry didn't seem like it would cut it for this infraction, even if it was a stupid mistake.
He sighed heavily and turned from the sight of the small, bleeding bite to look out at the ocean. Some of the other big fish he'd accidentally called forth were still swimming around just past the waves. He would have shot a banishing charm at them, but he was too afraid of hitting the other swimmers.
He debated yelling out shark to warn the kids still in the water, but that would probably just cause a panic. Instead he stood awkwardly and waited for the fallout.
A few minutes later (after the rant had turned into why Facebook was a child pornographer's dream) she happened to look back over, and that's when she noticed that November wasn't cramping, she was bleeding.
Cinna's shriek cut through the entire beach, and she leapt to her feet, dragging Leland with her. Quidditch players were good at healing charms-- they had to be, just for the sheer amount of times their noses got broken during games. She was going to get sued and her mom was going to kill her.
November was just reaching to start dabbing her side with a towel when she heard Cinna shrieking and turned to see her pulling Leland along with her. "Oh god," she grimaced inwardly. "Cin it's okay," she said quietly feeling like a berated kid with a skinned knee. She held her hand up, covered in blood. Fuck that's not helping, she moved her hand back. "I just need a band-aid."
"See Cin, she's fine," Leland said seeing the small bite. There was a bit more blood than he expected and the girl was looking paler than usual but she insisted she was okay.
While the freak was staring off in the distance Leland begrudgingly got his wand out and tentatively poked at November's stomach. She winced away from him, getting pulled back into the moment. "Don't fucking poke it dude!" she grimaced.
"What?" he teased. "You can't deal with a tiny baby fish bite?" he poked it again.
November had been trying very hard the entire time not to freak out but Leland was just pushing her over the edge. "Fuck you! It was a fucking shark you stupid piece of shit quidditch playing pussy! I fucking transfigured the mean old bastard!"
"It was a fucking shark!" she pushed him hard, smearing blood from her hand on his shoulder on accident. "It was fucking huge and scary and had pointy fucking teeth! And you're just an inconsiderate little prick!"
Leland stumbled back at her push, he had not expected it from November. She was a tiny little thing, quiet and sweet; being yelled at her was the last thing he ever thought would happen. He stared at her, mouth hanging open. "I... I..."
"Shut your fucking face!" she snapped. "I'm bleeding like a sieve and I don't need shit from you! You're the last person I want touching me so just get this over with quick you lazy, self-absorbed, asshole," she glared at him for a minute before realizing what she had just said. Her cheeks flushed and she stepped back, trying to catch her breath.
"Alright, just... uh... yeah," he shook his head and with a more gentle touch he laid one hand on her stomach to the side of the bite and brandished his wand. First he syphoned the blood from around the open bite and second he used the vulnera sanentur spell, quietly humming the spell as he wove his wand over the bite. It was deeper than he had thought at first glance and he started to feel bad about teasing her for it.
She winced a little as he began healing her. Biting her bottom lip she closed her eyes, it stung like hell but at least she wasn't bleeding all over the place anymore. She clenched her fists at her sides to keep herself from swatting Leland away.
