WELL. Being in the same house, Ryder should have noticed her.. and I say /would/ have noticed her. ;)

She sounds fun, so they might get along. He will definitely speculate about why she goes home on weekends though. Which may not be very nice.. and they therefore might /not/ get on. XD

I could see a give and take maybe XD Sometimes on, sometimes off. She'll probably feed him a new line every other week: 'Oh, there was a party back home I had to go to', 'My grandpa threw out his back so I had to go take care of him', 'I left my shampoo and home and had to wash my hair'... And then totally talk about something else!
