Severus knew the moment Lily had received her gifts because the Gryffindor table, the girls, seemed to ooo and aaa over them. He of course felt very pleased with his actions, not that he gave a damn about what the others thought, but because he knew Lily would be very happy. His pleasure however was no where to be seen on his face. If anything the scowl deepened as his fellow Slytherins shoot him looks. Some wondering if he had sent the "Mudblood" gifts and others wondering if he'd be angry if he hadn't and that someone was paying attention to Miss Lily Evans.
Severus didn't care what they thought as he continued to eat his meal. Just as he was about to take a sip of his Pumpkin Juice the House Elf he had asked to deliver Lily's gift appeared before him. Outstretched in his small hands was a note. It didn't take a Seer to know who that letter was from. Severus refrained from smiling and opened the letter. His heart melted at the familiar elegant hand and he almost smiled when his eyes read "forever and always". It was always glad to know that although separated by house politics Lily's adoration would never waver... hell... his never would.
