State Alchemist?
Who: Anyone!
When: Early evening
Where: Central Head Quarters
Rating: G to PG
Summary: Reflecting on the past and new thoughts for the future.
Warnings: Nope

Alphonse sat in the room he and his brother were staying in at Central. He was seated at a desk infront of the window, gazing out of it in a daze. As he sat there, his mind drifted back to the times where he and his brother were searching for the Philosohper's Stone and what events had taken place. How by some twist of fate Al gained his body back. Those were strange times. Al rested his head in his hands in thought and wondered where his brother was. Another thought had crossed his mind. He wanted to follow in his brothers footsteps and become a state alchemist, but was he ready for the challenge? Could he pass the test? And furthermore, would he even be able to beat whomever he went up against? He retrieved a thick journal from the pocket of his pants and flipped it open. The pint sized object had a brown leather cover to it and a yellow ribbon that held it together. Inside were writings of everything that happened in the past. The misfortune that Al and his brother gone through, the good times, and bad. All there in that journal. He started it ages ago and decided to keep it so when he got older and had kids, he could teach them about the ways of alchemy. The rules of it, what to do, and what not to do. He stopped to think about how if Hohenheim had warned him and Ed about human transmutation, maybe then they wouldn't have went through all of the heartache. He pursed his lips together and picked up a pen that had been sitting on the desk next to his right hand. What to write, what to write, "That which does not kill you only makes you stronger. My brother is one of the strongest people I know. If it weren't for him, I would not be here today." Al scribbled down in the journal, "I want to follow in his footsteps and become a state alchemist. But I don't think I can pass those tests. Should I try anyways? I wonder. I really do. Only a handful of people pass that test every year. What if I take the test and pass one part, but don't pass the other when they want a demonstration of what I can do? What then? Should I even bother? Should I even try?" He stopped writing and sighed. He was frustrated because he didn't know what to do and he needed some advice.
