I wasn't sure whether to post this in

necroholic or here but this seems like more sensible place for it.

ICON TRUTH MEME

RULES:
1. Comment with your username, a few icons to see your work, and people will comment with what they feel about your icons.
2. You don't have to comment anonymously, but I would strongly suggest it.
3. TELL EVERYONE TO PARTICIPATE!
4. Please don't be rude when commenting, there is a difference between constructive and destructive criticism.
5. Even if you feel like you're not the best icon maker, please comment anyway, or comment to other people. This is supposed to help people grow, and see their strengths and weaknesses.

I like the way you combine images and textures in a way that makes them work together well. The very last Jared Leto one is a little too sharp for my tastes, but the others look just right- crisp, not too fuzzy, not too sharp.

ty! that means a lot to me because i actually have a really hard time/work forever on icons with textures to make sure they don't look awkward or too busy or anything. on the last one i was kind of seeing how far i could push it.. more experimenting than anything! i just wanted to see what other people thought. but thank you lots!

Your pictures that you have added with textures look wonderful. Although, I really don't like any of the simple icons except for these -

Personally, I think you could be one of the best icon makers on Scribbld if you worked harder on your simple icons. Please keep posting your icons!

Just promote it a bunch. You have the ability to make some fantastic icons. What you could do is make a new community to show off how much you've grown since

inkpen. Another thing is just keep posting in there but post banners with your newer work. Perhaps the people that aren't interested in your types of icons just don't realize how far you've come. Every maker gets better after time.

First off you do a lot of interesting things with textures.

I'm going to say text doesn't seem to be your strong point (it's also not mine). The text seems to not fit in 2/4 icons you've provided with text in it, to me any ways.

You also have a way of making colors pop and stand out in icons. It looks amazing.

i agree with what you said about text.. i'm not really sure how to use it because i don't, ever. so these were more or less me trying to expand my graphic design/icon making skills!

I'm the same way when it comes to text. It's just so abnormal for me, mostly cause I tend to do my graphics in higher resolutions than necessary. How long have you been trying to work with text? I've got 8 years against me.. :(
