Game Information

The world is similar to our own. Technology is the same, cities are the same and the same problems exist. Unknown to most of the population there are immortals, people who cannot die by normal means, living among normal humans. These immortals were once human like everyone else, but something turned them into immortals and allowed them to living through the centuries.

The game can take place anywhere in the world, but Denver, Colorado is the main city to start.

Magic exists in the world, but it is much diminished since ancient days. Some people are naturally talented, others need to learn and need the aid of books and tomes.

These are the type of characters available to play:

Humans - Humans are exactly that. They live, they get older and they die. They come in many sizes, shapes and colors. Most people don't know there are immortals living in the world, but there are a few who do. These few who know about the existence of immortals are usually working for them in some fashion, but not necessary. This can be anything from minions who go out to run errands, household staff, close friends, etc.

Some humans can find out about the existence of immortals and objects of power through observation and research, or through rumor and myth. They can have many motives for wanting to finding these immortals or objects. Below is just a list of some possible motives. If you can create a new motive, great.

Knowledge about history.
Knowledge about immortality.
Desire for immortality.
Gather objects to acquire power.
Expose the existence of immortals.
Destroy immortals.
Study and experimentation on immortals.
Study objects of power.

Human Organizations:
Right now there are no organizations of humans in the game. They can be created if wanted.

Immortals - For some reason or another a human has acquired the gift/curse of immortality. The cannot die but ordinary means. They do not age, get sick or die. If they are wounded they heal quickly, even severed limbs will reattach themselves. Some immortals are thousands of years old and some are only a few decades.

Every immortal started out as a normal human but for some reason they found the secret to immortality. These reason vary from immortal to immortal, but no matter the reason each immortal keeps it a secret if they want to keep their immortality.

Immortals don't have a 'sense' telling them when other immortals are near. This isn't Highlander. One immortal can be sitting next to another one and neither knows the other is an immortal. There are no signs or traits that can allow a person to identify an immortal on sight.

All immortals don't know each other just like all humans don't know each other.

Immortals come in different sizes, ages and colors. They all have their own secrets and motives. Some motives are below and players are encourage to create more motives:

Destroy other immortals
Rule/subjugate humanity
Protect humanity
Remove immortality curse
Keep anyone from using powerful objects
Acquire power
Acquire wealth
Enjoy life

Such methods of becoming immortal are the following:
Cursed
Artifact
Elixir
Water from the Fountain of Youth
Spell
Other methods upon mod approval

Immortal Organizations:

The Custodes Thesauri, Custodians of the Treasure, or commonly called The Guardians, is a group of immortals dedicated to keeping magical and cursed items from being used and causing harm. The group started around 330BCE during Alexander’s conquest of the known world. Alexander had men seeking out relics and objects that would help him conquer the world. Raegar, the first Guardian, recruited Ymesit and a few others to help them keep Alexander from getting a hold of objects that would help him in his quest.

Raegar and Ymesit managed to keep a few items from Alexander and would hide them away. They made it their mission to keep powerful artifacts and cursed items away from men who would use them for conquest or harm. Raegar and Ymesit found an anciet text describing the secret to immortality. The two used it to make themselves immortal so they could always watch over the growing collection of magical and cursed objects.

Over the centuries they would add a few more members to help them collect and store artifacts. They would seek out new members and would recruit those who had some mutation or ability that would grant them immortality or an extended lifespan. Each guardian has hired numerous mortals who are their eyes and ears around the world. When news of an artifact or object comes to one of them, they inform the local guardian.

The only member of the Guardians in the game so far is Akantha.

Not available for play, but exist in the world:

Gods: The gods from the different mythologies exist and for the most part have very little power due to the lack of many worshipers. There are still some humans who worship the old gods, but there are not enough to give the gods the powers they once had.

Some gods have come to Earth to move among the mortals and have taken up positions that will get them the love they seek. Some are posing as rock stars, fashion models, sports stars, etc.

Ones I haven't decided on:
Vampires
