Introductions, anyone?

Hey, all!

I'm Jay and I'll be be taking on the role of Josh Lowell, aka Poseidon. I'm no stranger to RP but this is the first time I've played a god. I'm really looking forward to it. :)

My time zone is Pacific Standard (GMT -8), but lately I've been on at all hours. The best way to get in contact with me is e-mail (ms_ellery@hotmail.com) but I'm usually available for chatting later in the evenings. On AIM, just do a search for my e-mail and you'll find me.

Hola o/, I'm EJ~ Hi~ I'll be bringing three characters (One I have to finish the app for, the other two are accepted already). I have this guy- Jack Donovan. He's Hermes and in denial. I also have Akana Bahur, who is Horus. My last one will just be a plain ole mortal XD, Jack's brother, Tucker.

My email is heraldofzeus@gmail.com, and on AIM I am paythepiper79

Heylo there. :)

I am wearing multiple hats in this case but...

I'm Ana and this is Seth. He is not a nice man. I also play David who may or may not be a nice man but is definitely a self-centered one with daddy issues. And Diana who is perhaps the most well-adjusted of any character I've ever played...at least until Loki starts screwing her up. :)

Oh yeah, I am also the woman behind the curtain at [info]metem_mods and [info]metem_npcs (as needed, etc).

I'm in the Eastern Time Zone (UTC-5 until DST starts again in spring then it'll be -4). Typically, I've been popping on during the day a bit when I have time at work but mostly I'll be on in evenings and weekends. Fastest way to contact me is by email (anaili[at]gmail[dot]com) but when I remember to be so, I'm available on AIM at analise83.

As we're inching towards zero hour, I had a question about how time will work in-game. Every game I've played in has handled it differently. For example, in one game one real week equals one day in-game. In another, people were polled to see if everything they needed to accomplish had been done. How will we be handling it here?

I don't think I've ever played in a game where time was forcibly pushed along (so to speak). Generally, the way I see it, whatever day you're creating a post (not a comment), that's the day it's happening on. So it's important in the top of the post to give some idea of when in the day it's occurring, but I wouldn't also expect that all RP within that post has to finish within that day. Might take a few days, if posters are on very different schedules.

Now, you wouldn't want it to take too long, because it will be difficult to put that character into any following situations like...

Say Diana is in a thread with Jack on Monday and the thread is stated to be taking place late in the afternoon and I also want Diana to go to another thread to talk to Bill later that evening. I can't really start that second thread until the thread with Jack is wrapped up (now, if the thread with Jack isn't hugely consequential and likely to change the tone of how she interacts with Bill...I could probably get away with it, especially if I've talked to Jack's player first to make sure Jack wasn't going to spring something crazy on Diana).

And there also might be a situation where, say, I am not at home all day (like yesterday, hah) so I can't make a post on that day, but I need to create something that had to happen on that day. I can still post the next day, and just make a note in the time (don't actually backdate it, just put it up top, like you see on Bill's post in [info]metempsychosis as to what day it's actually happening and where it fits in to the storyline. This would also work for folks who might post transcriptions of chat logs (which are okay to post, but ideally interaction should be happening in the community).

Does that make sense?

Basically, a day is a day, as far as the date-stamp on a post goes. But backdating and slowtiming happen, so we make allowances for that.

Of course, if, as we go on, folks have a better idea they want to try out, I'd be open to seeing what we can do.

Annnd of course I just remembered I'd "backdated" Bill's post so it WOULD show up for today even though I posted it a few days ago but just pretend I gave you a good example. ;)

Hi all! I'm Reb (Rebecca) and have been a long-time RP player but am just returning after a break. I'm PST too and usually on in later afternoon and evenings. My email is woolfinwool @ gmail and chat programs hate my laptop. :-( I'm hoping to bring in some other Greek girls too -- maybe Persephone and Artemis. :-)
