Rider had nobody to talk to but the cat. Pyxis had dumped him and now she was too busy with Walden and her new boyfriend to be his friend. Romy was always off being a girl or being with Walden. "She wouldn't be hard to steal," he pointed out, holding out a little scrap of chicken for Diamond to eat.
"I could just stuff her in my pocket and walk away with her. She's so small. You probably wouldn't even notice at first." He smiled when Diamond started to lick the piece of chicken in his hand. "Surprised Dad hasn't stepped on her yet."
