Thoreau was on Team Draco in the breakup because Pansy was his best friend and she was definitely Team Draco. She hated Merlin. Somehow, supporting Draco emotionally had turned into being his errand boy for a while because Pansy didn't think she could see Merlin and not commit some form of physical assault. He sighed, knocking on the door to Merlin's flat. He understood there had been cheating and that was bad, but sending friends to give exes their stuff and get your own stuff back just seemed petty to him.
It was a good thing he and Rooney hadn't broken up. And that Thoreau was being good now. They wouldn't have to go through any of this drama.
