Lucy liked the Hogwarts uniforms better than the Beauxbatons ones, even if it was colder here. The colour palette suited her fashion sense better. Flimsy blue silk just didn't look right with black stockings and heels and eyeliner. The more classic, grey-based, schoolgirl uniform was a better fit for it. And she'd managed to make friends with Mason and, kind of, his friends.

She grinned as she walked into the Great Hall with him. "Did you take History of Magic in sixth year?" she asked him. "The professor is so boring. I can't --" Lucy stopped and blinked, because there was a very familiar boy with a neck tattoo walking in front of them. She stared at the flower on his neck for a moment, then rushed forward and wrapped her arms around him. "Rex!"

Rex had not expected to be jumped by Lucy at all. And then he was. He laughed and wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight to his chest. "I heard that you'd transferred here as well. I thought I was going to be alone." He kissed her forehead.

Mason felt a flutter of jealousy as he stood behind her, doing his best not to frown. "Who is this?"

"I thought I was going to be the one who ended up alone," Lucy told Rex, grinning up at him. "How weird is it that we got transferred at the same time? I didn't hear anything about you. You've obviously got better sources than me."

She looked back at Mason. "This is Rex Lestrange," she said. "He's the best. And he used to go to Beauxbatons too. Rex, this is my new friend Mason. He's got good taste in music."

"My father's job was transferred back here. So he made me come with him instead of staying with my Mum. Which is where I wanted to stay." Rex pouted at her and then glanced at the boy standing there. "Wow. He's your type. Good going, Lu."

Lucy laughed. "I like the uniform here better," she told him, and then hit his chest, glancing back at Mason too. "Be good," she admonished. She pulled back and smiled at Mason. "Sorry. Rex was one of my best friends at Beauxbatons. I wasn't expecting to see him." She looked at the colour of Rex's robes. "Of course you're a Slytherin. I'm a badger."

"It's fine. I just didn't expect you to hop in someone else's arms this morning." Mason gave her a small smile, still feeling jealous. He had too many tattoos and looked like the wrong sort. He looked like Rider.

"Don't worry, mate. I'm a full blown fag." Rex laughed and looked at Lucy. "And I do like to blow."

"You're disgusting," Lucy said affectionately, grinning at Rex. She looked at Mason again. "He's gold star gay. Going to concerts with him is ridiculous. He attracts boys like he's made of honey and they're all flies."

"Who's made of honey?" Rider came up behind Mason, eying Rex and Lucy cautiously. He hoped the kid could keep his mouth shut. In retrospect, cheating on Pyxis probably wasn't a smart thing to do.

Lucy looked up at Mason and smiled. She thought her and her raccoon eyes were doing just fine. "I'm supposed to be a badger now. Maybe I should switch up my makeup. Rex is the one who's jealous. He doesn't have the balls to wear this much eyeliner."

Rider snorted. "Mason wears eyeliner sometimes," he said. "When he does his band thing. He passed out once and Pyxis did a whole makeover thing to him. Blush, lipstick, the works."

"I was a beautiful man that day. When I woke up." Mason pointed out as he led Lucy over to the Hufflepuff table. He grinned at her. "I'm pretty sure some of the glitter is still on my face."

Rex watched Mason and Lucy for a moment, then looked up at Rider and arched his brow before he walked over to the Hufflepuff table. "I'm a Slytherin, but I'll sit with you."

Lucy laughed at Mason. "Glitter is a bitch," she said. "It never comes out." She grinned when Rex joined them. "Very generous of you. Hogwarts is going to suck so much less with you here. Mason's been my only real ally so far."

Rider didn't like being walked away from. He didn't want to sit with the Hufflepuffs, but... well, Rex wasn't leaving him a choice. He followed the boy to the table and took a seat, remaining silent.

Rex smiled at Lucy before it turned to a frown at Rider sitting beside him. He knew the other boy wanted him. It was just a matter of time before he actually realized that. "I seemed to have found an enemy." He nodded towards Rider.

"Rider is everyone's enemy." Mason pointed out with a snort. "We still having the meeting tonight, Rider? Pyxis said something about inviting that big monster bloke she made friends with."

Rider frowned. "Draganov, you mean?" He'd have to talk to Pyxis about that. "They're not really friends. She just got paired with him for a project. We're meeting tonight, but I don't know if he's coming." He wouldn't be if Rider had a say in it.

Lucy glanced at Rex and raised an eyebrow, nudging his foot under the table. She wasn't quite sure she believed the enemy thing, but only because she knew Rex and Rider was his type. "You should come."

They listen to them and swap them. It'll be fun and I'll protect you from Rider, even though he's your type."
