"Was he? I think I've done well so far," Thoreau said, smiling at Pansy. He ordered them a pot of tea and two pieces of cherry cheesecake. "Why does he think I'm a bad idea?" he asked, reaching across the table and taking Pansy's hand in his.
Rider snorted, looking down at Pyxis. "Not those twins," he said. "They're not really my type. What are my options at Hogwarts? The Patils? Not interested. The Gryffindor one giggles a lot and the Ravenclaw is flat."
Draco glanced at Merlin's arm and then nodded. He could remember what that felt like, even if his arm hadn't burned since coming back. "You should go," he said. "I'll find something to do with myself. We'll see each other again later."
"Of course," June said, wrinkling her nose as she thought about Merlin. "He used to practice Imperius on me and have me embarrass myself. And once he made me deaf for a day. I made him babble nonsense every time he tried to speak in retaliation so we're even on that one though."
