Who: Ginny Weasley, Marcus Flint and George Weasley.
What: "Grumpy meet Ginny... Ginny meet Grumpy..."
Where: Hogsmeade - 3 Broomsticks & Honeydukes
When: Sunday 5th Feb.
Rating: PG
Status: Incomplete

Hogsmeade rarely ever changed dramatically. Sure, there were little things, like a new store opening or the different seasons that passed through the village. But the fundamentals were always there and one particular staple was the Three Broomsticks.

George sat in one of the corner booths near to the fire but not close enough that he melted, drinking a Butterbeer and smirking at the names carved in the table he sat at. He remembered the look on Madam Rosmerta's face when she had found that George had defaced one of her tables with Fred's and his names just to prove to a group of Slytherins in fourth year that the table did belong to them and did indeed have their names on it. Funny how times had changed and he was now sitting with a Slytherin, not bothered at all the 'snake' was at 'his' table.

The group started off with both Twins and Marcus Flint, but something in Zonko's had caught Fred's eye and George wasn't going to begrudge his Twin a chance to check on what 'the enemy' was selling. Now it was just George and Marcus in the Three Broomsticks waiting for the youngest Weasley sibling to arrive.

"Relax," He leant close to Marcus, dropping a hand beneath the table and touching the other man's thigh. His tone was calming yet had a light joking quality about it. "Even though she thinks you have a nice arse, she is not going to jump you in a room full of people."

He's been to Hogsmeade before, plenty of times, this visit would be just like all the others. Wander around the shops, sign a few autographs (he'd already done five, but it was a Hogwarts weekend so he'd expected that) then have a drink and something to eat at the Leaky. The only thing remotely different about this particular visit was the red head by his side and the fact he would be meeting yet another Weasley shortly.

The hand on his thigh calmed him a lot more than the words and he nodded, offering a tiny flash of a smile before glancing at the door as it opened. No flame haired girl this time, but a couple of stares were shot in their direction anyway. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous. Ginny had owled him already and had been quite nice about things. Marcus was sure she wouldn't jump him, even if she was related to Twink, who had a tendency to do just that.

Actually, he did know why he was nervous. It was the social awkwardness coming through again. Neither he or his cousin were good at making small talk with people and definitely not with girls. Picking up his pint, he sipped it quietly, glancing at George and trying to ignore the amusement in his boyfriend's (that was still odd thinking of him as that) eyes.

Ginny wandered through Hogsmede, wrapped up as it was so cold. Covering her ears were a pair of earmuffs, a Gryffindor scarf wrapped around her neck and a thick pair of gloves covered her hands. Usually Ginny would be wandering around the little village with her friends, but today she was meeting her brother and his boyfriend, well that is what she assumed he was.

Stepping into the Three Broomsticks, Ginny pulled off her earmuffs and shook out her hair before looking around. Spotting a familiar redhead, Ginny waved before she began to walk over, sidestepping students as they moved around the busy pub.

“Heylo!,” a bright smile emerged on lips as she greeted the two at the table. Despite sending the Slytherin before her owls, meeting him was a little different. It wasn’t that she was frightened of him in any way; it was more that she didn’t want to do anything to embarrass George. Sliding into the booth Ginny set her earmuffs on the table along with her small handbag. “Why do you both look so nervous? It’s not like I’m going to sit here and start ranting I said my piece by owl,” Ginny beamed, she didn’t know if Marcus had told her brother about the owls that she had sent, but Ginny didn’t mind either way.

George gave the leg muscle beneath his hand a little squeeze at the sight of the tiny smile, wanting to comfort Marcus. He guessed the other man was nervous - after all, he would be too if he were meeting his family. They could be quite scary at times... especially Fred and himself.

The door opened again and the firey red hair so similar to his own brought a small playful smirk to his face. It didn't take Ginny long to spot them and make her way over to them, the smile on her face was pleasing to see. Even though Ginny had written that she was okay with him seeing Marcus, it was still good to have that confirmed in person.

"Greetings, salutations and all that other crap," George replied playfully to her 'hello'. He nodded a little to the seat opposite him in the booth, welcoming his little sister to sit.

"Pfft," he scoffed when she said they were nervous. "Gin, you're my sister. Kind of immune to your powers to make grown men shake in their boots." George had kept his hand on Marcus' leg, knowing he'd have to do most of the talking. Grumpy wasn't much of a talker - a fact that had never bothered George in the slightest - but George knew the Slytherin would open up eventually.

"So anyway, Gin-Bug, this is Marcus." George looked to the man seated next to him with a grin. "Grumpy... this little gingernut is Ginny. Hurrah! You've met. Now let's order some food. I'm starved."

The hand on his leg squeezed slightly and he turned to Twink, sipping his drink again. He was glad of the comfort, but he still felt a little apprehensive. As the youngest Weasley joined them, Marcus managed to offer a tiny smile to her, though the expression grew a little more sure as George joked in response to her greeting.

Setting his pint glass on the table, he chuckled softly at the sibling teasing. Something he'd never experienced, being an only child. 'You're owls weren't really rants either.' He shrugged, glancing at the table top, not sure what to say to a seventeen year old girl.

'Hi Ginny,' he shot Twink a look, 'and its Marcus.' Nodding at the suggestion of food, he passed Ginny a menu before looking at one himself; sharing with George.

Ginny stuck her tongue out at her big brother as he teased her about making men shake in their boots. “I don’t think it’s me that makes them shake in their boots dear Georgie, but the fact I have six older brothers,” Ginny smirked. She knew for a fact that several potential boyfriends had been scared away by her big brothers.

Rolling her eyes as George mentioned he was hungry – he really reminded her of Ron at times – Ginny smiled at Marcus, “Nice to be formally introduced.”

Taking a menu as it was passed to her, Ginny thanked the slytherin before looking it over and deciding on soup as it was warm and filling.

“So how have you both been?” She questioned, the silence wasn’t akward, but she wanted to get to know the man that her brother was dating. She could already see that Marcus was good for George, just by the way George was acting.

"Five," George quipped instantly. "Percy doesn't count." He grinned, loving to tease their older brother - only problem was that Percy wasn't there to react. Always better to get a reaction when teasing someone. George wasn't mean spirited when he teased Percy, though. He just thought Percy gave the best reactions.

At the look Marcus gave him, George just gave a little almost smug smile - basically telling the Slytherin that the more he said 'It's Marcus', the more George would insist on calling him Grumpy. It was just in George's nature to be defiant. He leaned in closer to Marcus under the pretence of sharing the menu and getting a better look at it despite the fact he already knew what he wanted. Chips and a burger - delicious.

"Get anything you want," George murmured low to the man seated next to him. "Won't tell your coach and I'll help you burn it off later." He pointed out his decision of the burger and chips then waited to see what Marcus would pick.

He looked up from the menu at Ginny's question, a smile on his face clearly indicating he was happy. "Captain Flint led his team to another solid victory yesterday." He replied, changing the subject easily to Quidditch - a subject that hopefully helped Marcus relax and open up more.
