Harry entered the Hall not long after 5 to notice a good sized crowd already in attendance. He made his way to the bar after shaking hands with Kingsley and ordered himself a glass of white wine. The dinner wouldn't be for a little bit so he got himself a seat and waited for his drink alone.
Looking around he saw most of his colleagues were already paired off, some of the obviously drunk, it reminded him of last year's Christmas party. He'd been asked after why he didn't take part in the office flirting and all he could really do was smile and laugh in a self-deprecating manner. Truth was, he hadn't met anyone that tickled his fancy in a while, despite his young age. It was true that Kingsley Shacklebolt was incredibly attractive to him, but Harry knew far better than do anything about it, and so he minded his time with a delightful little crush and didn't bother dating out of obligation.
Sipping his newly delivered wine, Harry waved at his section's boss - the team's head recruiter - and laughed when she brushed off the attentions of the coach of the Bats, looking through the crowd once more for a potential drinking partner. Really, where were Ron and Hermione when he needed them?
