Who: George Weasley, Dotzy and Mac
What: Marking a calendar with a very important date
Where: Marcus' house, Manchester
When: Monday 26th March, 1999
Rating: G
Status: Complete

George was starfished out in the big bed, trying to take up as much room as he possibly could while he had the bed to himself. It was early in the morning, well early for him at any rate being close to eight o'clock, and Marcus had gone for a run or some training related excercise. (A little later than normal, but that's what he got for waking George from his good dream. Of course George wanted to see how the dream ended by reenacting it, to which Grumpy didn't complain). So all in all, George had the bed to himself and was too awake to drift back to sleep, but he didn't have to be anywhere till after midday. So just lazing about seemed like a perfectly fine idea... till his stomach decided it disagreed and wanted feeding.

A little whine escaped him as he stretched out, muscles flexing and then relaxing again as he settled. He sighed and sat up, moving to the edge of the bed and swung his legs of the side, bare feet touching the floor. Hopping out of the bed, George dressed and exited the bedroom out into the kitchen, where Marcus' Great Dane, Mac was munching on a bowl of dog biscuits. Mac looked up from his breakfast and wagged his tail, seemingly pleased to see George and the Weasley Twin gave him a pat before the pup turned back to his meal.

"Mister George is finally awake." A little voice appeared behind George, sounding amused. The red head turned around to see the small House Elf and nodded in greeting. At first Dotzy had been wary of George's visits, but slowly it seemed the House Elf had accepted him. "And Mister George is wearing Young Master Marcus' tshirt again."

"Ah, but Young Master Marcus won't mind." George smirked, moving over to the fridge to start fixing himself some breakfast. Dozty pulled a bowl and a glass for George out of one of the cupboards, not happy with her Master's guest's tendency to help himself when she was there to do it for him. But George was set in his ways and Dotzy her's so for Marcus' sanity they mutually agreed to share doing things.

"So what's on the Captain's agenda this week? Lot of press dealings after the big awards Saturday night, hmm?" George asked the House Elf as she poured some juice into the glass for him and he put some cereal in the bowl. "You'd think being the winning Captain would give him some bragging rights, yeah?"

Dotzy just gave George a look that told him that he should know better and remember about her Master's dislike of the media. With a simple flick of her wrist, the food items were put away and George settled himself on a chair at the kitchen bench to enjoy his breakfast.

As the House Elf left once more, probably to do some other chore that the Elf seemed to love doing, George's blue eyes looked around the kitchen and spotted a calendar beside the fridge. The Quidditch Awards Night had been marked but there wasn't anything else on it for the next week. Glass of juice in hand, George stood up and moved over to the calendar, flicking it over to April to see nothing marked.

Eyes widened at the sudden thought. He had never mentioned his birthday to the ex-Slytherin. Of course, they hadn't been exactly a conventional couple but George felt like Marcus should know when his birthday was. Pulling his wand out of a pocket in his jeans, George pointed it toward the date of April first and muttered a little spell, pleased with the result. In big bold letters, very similar to George's handwriting if he were writing all in capitals, read 'Twink and Fred's 21st Twinsday at Never Never Land'. He pondered a little, wondering if Grumpy would get what a 'Twinsday' was so wrote 'birthday' underneath the word in brackets. There, now Marcus would know.

It wasn't that he wanted any presents off the Quidditch Captain, he just wanted the other man to known that he actually was born not magically found in a cabbage patch or something. That and he definitely wanted Marcus to attend his 'Twinsday' party at the club he and his Twin owned. Maybe he was becoming sentimental...

At that moment, Mac dropped his little red ball at George's feet, finished with breakfast and wanting to play. All thoughts George had about becoming sentimental went flying out the window in favour for having fun.
