Xavier didn't want Caspar to go yet. He wanted to spend more time with him. He'd missed him and they'd only just started talking again. Things felt a little awkward, but surely they could push through it?
"Can I buy you a drink?" he asked. "Elodie could come too. You two could fight for old time's sake or something. Or we could just leave her. By the way, she may have been a bitch to you while we were kids, but she watched you on stage like she thought you grew up in all the right places, so you've got that on her." maybe he was babbling a bit. Xavier just didn't want to let Caspar go.
