Cepheus was kind of nervous. He and James had thrown together a somewhat engagement party in a matter of two days, which meant it was catered and thrown together. But, he thought they looked nice and the house was nice too. They'd even gotten a bigger table to fit everyone that was important to invite. He looked at James, standing there in his suit and bit his lip. "You look too good. You're going to distract me."

Albus could not believe that James was getting married. Let alone Cepheus. He'd not believed it at first. He'd thought that James was joking when he'd gotten the text. He glanced at Kit as they walked up to the building. "Can you believe my brother is getting married? I'm so confused."

Pansy slid her hand into Scorpius's hand as they walked together to the party. "How are you feeling?" She asked. It wasn't very great that Cepheus was getting married at the same time that Scorpius was going through a heart break.

James laughed, wrapping his arms around Cepheus and pulling him into a kiss. "I want to look nice. I need to prove to your parents that I'll be a presentable husband for you," he said, and kissed him again. "This is going to be nice. Our families coming together."

Kit laughed at that. "I don't know if I do yet," he confessed. "James has always been... I don't know. It's definitely unexpected, but if they're having an engagement party like this than they must be serious about it."

Scorpius looked down at his mother, giving her a weak smile. "Not great," he admitted. "I'm not going to let it spoil their engagement party, though, don't worry. I'm happy for Cepheus. He really loves James and he was so unhappy with Xavier, even if he didn't show it. He deserves this."

Lavinia was not sure how she felt about Cepheus and James being engaged. Worried, maybe. It was so fast. What if James changed his mind? Lavinia wished her brothers would take better care of their hearts. "I can't believe Phe's going to be someone's husband," she said, looking at Rex walking beside her. "They weren't even talking a couple days ago."

"Are you sure about that?" Cepheus asked with a laugh, then brushed their lips together. "I want our parents to be proud of us for being adults. But, I think most of them are going to think we're rushing into it."

Albus nodded, squeezing Kit's hand, leading him into the lift. He leaned in and pressed their lips together gently, smiling. "I'm glad that you're my date. Do you think things will be weird with Scorpius?"

"I never knew he was unhappy with Xavier." Pansy sighed softly, shaking her head. "I suppose I did see that he was struggling a little bit trying to make Xavier happy. Like with the salon plan."

"That's how it works in films, isn't it?" Rex asked as he walked beside her, snorting. "They fight and break up, spend a few days apart and then they're destined fate of being together is just to much and they fuse together and then the credits roll."

"That's true," James agreed, laughing. "Molly was excited, but my dad was just over disapproving of me. I'm sure he thinks you're making a mistake, taking me back." He kissed Cepheus again. "I promise to be the best mistake you ever make. I'll make you so happy you won't believe it."

Kit kissed Albus back, smiling at him. "I'm glad I'm your date too. I missed you this week. I can't wait until we're both at the same school again." He thought about Scorpius for a moment. "I don't know," he admitted. "I think Scorpius will try and make everything as normal as possible, but it might be a little awkward."

"He's a lot happier when he's with James," Scorpius promised their mother, trying not to feel bad about how he'd almost ruined that for Cepheus. She didn't need to know about that part of it though. "It's kind of a shock, but I think this is good for them. It'll be harder for them to let their bickering break them up if they're engaged."

"Yeah, but films aren't real," Lavinia pointed out, sighing. "Cepheus is my favourite. I just don't want him to get hurt again like he was by Xavier. And Scorpius isn't over Albus and Albus is an idiot who will probably bring his boyfriend to the party where his brother and Scorpius's brother are celebrating their engagement and it's going to be a whole thing." She hooked her arm through Rex's. "If I pretend my ovary burst, just go with it."

"Maybe it's a mistake for you to get with me." Cepheus pointed out as he looked up at James, then kissed him deeply. He didn't care if everyone thought this was a mistake. He was in love. "We should have gotten together and broken up a million times years ago."

Albus nodded with a small sigh. He wasn't looking forward to Scorpius being awkward, but their families were kind of being joined by two important people, so they'd have to deal. "If he tries to make it awkward, we'll just sit somewhere else."

"Your father and I always bicker. It's what makes us great as friends." Pansy pointed out. "Luka kind of just does whatever I want him to to avoid conflict." She squeezed her son's hand. "Have you been on any dates?"

Rex let out a laugh. "Fucking hell, Vi. Just calm down. It's not going to be that bad." He told her, kissing her cheek. "If you really need a distraction, just tell everyone we're dating or something."

"Best mistake I ever made," James promised, smiling at Cepheus and pressing him against the wall. "Maybe I shouldn't have worn this suit. One us needs to stop this so we're not shagging when our families show up." He stole another kiss from Cepheus. "We have each other now."

Kit kissed Albus's neck. "That's a good idea," he said. "It won't be forever, Alby. Your friendship with each other is too strong to just go away. Even I want you to be friends again."

"Not really," Scorpius said. "I mean, kind of. There's an intern at the agency that I got lunch with and we talked about going for sushi." He shrugged. "I don't know if I'm ready to date, Mum. I think about Albus all the time. I feel miserable. Sometimes I feel like I should just give up because if my best friend couldn't stand dating me for more than three weeks, who will be able to?"

"I'm actually not completely sure my father wouldn't call out a hit on you," Lavinia said, laughing and leaning against Rex a little. "I'm pretty sure my grandfather has some very sketchy connections. He'd probably like you, though. He's a bit of a perv and you're hot."

"It doesn't matter what you're wearing. I'm always trying to shag you." Cepheus pointed out as he took a step back, running his hand down James's silk tie. "Not that this tie is helping. I'm thinking about tying you up with it. When they leave, watch your back, Potter."

Albus smiled at Kit and nodded as they walked down the hall to his brother's flat. "That's why I love you." He told him, then rang the buzzer.

"Sometimes things seem like they should be easy. And they're not because it's not meant to happen." Pansy shook her head. "I loved Theo for a while. That wasn't supposed to happen."

Rex laughed at that and shook his head. "I'm not interested in grandfathers." He told her, then kissed her neck softly. "Just you."

James laughed. "I'm looking forward to it," he told Cepheus, stealing another kiss from his boyfriend. He wrapped an arm around Cepheus's shoulders, pulling him with him as he walked over and opened the door. James grinned at Al and Kit. "You're the first ones here," he said. "Come in. There's drinks and there's food."

Kit smiled at James, feeling a bit nervous about Scorpius's brother, but it wasn't like it was his fault Scorpius and Albus hadn't worked out, right? "Congratulations," he said, holding out the bottle of wine he and Albus had brought for them. "You look very happy."

"I know we're not going to get back together," Scorpius said, looking up at his mother and running a hand through his hair. "I've accepted that things are over, I think, but it's hard and I don't really want to see him with his boyfriend right now, but I'm going to pretend to be fine with it for Cepheus. It's my fault Cepheus and James broke up in the first place." He opened the door to their building for his mother. "After you."

Lavinia blushed when Rex kissed her neck. They hadn't really finished the conversation his dad had interrupted, but Lavinia wasn't sure she knew how to finish it anymore so she was kind of okay with that. She liked them being friends. She didn't want to ruin anything. "Probably a good thing. It would be kind of awkward."

Albus walked in and looked at his brother. "Maybe a little too happy." He told him with a laugh, then slapped his back gently. "I can't believe you're getting married. It makes me feel old."

Cepheus snorted. "We're not that old. Don't make me feel older than I am." He stuck out his tongue.

"You should go on dates." Pansy told her son before she walked through the door of the flat, glancing around. "This is a very nice place."

"What would be awkward?" Merlin walked up behind his daughter, placing a hand on her shoulder. He didn't like how much time she was spending with the other boy. But, he was going to let her make her own mistakes.

"I'm older than all of you," James said, shaking his head. He grabbed Cepheus and pulled him close, stealing a kiss from him. "I'll just be your pervy older husband. Everyone will be impressed I got a hot young thing like you." He put the bottle of wine from Albus and Kit down on the counter, then picked up drinks and pressed them into their hands. "Get buzzed so things are less awkward when Scorpius shows up."

"It's one of Dad's buildings," Scorpius said, pushing the call button for the lift and then stepping inside. "I don't think he thought giving Cepheus a flat would lead to him getting engaged so quickly."

Lavinia looked up at her father, feeling a bit like she'd been caught with her hand in the cookie jar. "Dad," she said. "We were just joking about Grandpa Riddle. It's even more awkward explaining it."

Albus sighed at that and looked at his brother. "You just had to get our families married, didn't you?" He asked and then shook his head. "Now there are just going to be awkward family dinners and holidays all the time."

"Your father has so many buildings it's impossible to keep track of them all." Pansy waved a dismissive hand as she watched the numbers on the lift. "I don't know why he wants all of them."

"I don't even like thinking about your grandfather." Merlin pointed out, shaking his head. "Let alone joking about him. Where did I lose your father?" He looked around for Draco.

"You're the one who had to date and dump his brother," James said, patting Albus on the back. "I love him. I'm more than willing to put you through awkward dinners and holidays to get Phe to myself."

"Money, I assume. Investing in real estate. Lavinia could probably explain it all to you. She's the smart one." Scorpius smiled at his mother, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Maybe I should move back home, since Cepheus will be moving out of our flat now."

Draco was walking a bit behind the three of them. He knew they were letting Lavinia make her own mistakes, but he wasn't as good at keeping his opinions to himself as Merlin was. "I'm here," he said, catching up and taking Merlin's hand in his. "I have my suspicions about what they were saying about Tom."

Lavinia rolled her eyes at that, looking at Rex. "There are all sorts of gross, dirty family secrets I could tell you about him," she said. "One day I'll let them slip." She looked at her fathers. "Are you happy for Phe?"

Albus snorted at that and rolled his eyes. "Arse." He hit his arm and then looked around his brother's place. "I've never been here before. Cepheus decorate everything?"

Cepheus smiled at Kit for a moment, then grabbed a glass of champagne, holding it out to him. "I'm glad you could make it. Albus looks happy."

"You're not moving back home, Scorpius. If you move home, you'll just be enabling yourself to do nothing." Pansy told him, shaking her head. "You need to live on your own and go out on dates and make friends."

Rex looked up at Draco and ran a hand through his hair. "It wasn't anything bad. It was harmless." He admitted. "It's good to see you again." He held his hand out to Draco.

Merlin nodded in reply. "We're happy for Cepheus. We think it's a little soon, but your brother has always danced to his own drum."

"Yeah, he's a genius," James said, giving the flat a fond smile. "He's got tons of ideas for the wedding already too. We kept meaning to have a big house-warming party, but then you and Scorpius broke up and then me and Cepheus broke up and now the engagement party is kind of doubling up. Grandma's been here before. She loves Cepheus. You should have heard how happy she was when I told her we were engaged."

"Thanks," Kit said, taking the champagne from Cepheus and taking a sip as he glanced back at James and Albus talking. "I was glad he invited me. I think everything is getting back to normal and I'm trying to transfer to his school for second semester, so we're both a lot happier than we were. Your place looks great."

"I have friends. They're just Albus's friends too," Scorpius said. He sighed, stepping out of the lift and walking down the hall of James and Cepheus's place. "I just... feel like maybe I should be out of love with Albus before I try really hard to date someone else, Mum. I'd like to know what it's like to not regret having sex with someone." He rang the buzzer.

Draco looked at the kid who Lavinia definitely had feelings for and sighed inwardly, reaching out and shaking his hand. "You too," he said. "Although with the way Lavinia talks about you, it's almost like you're always around. We're happy she has friends closer to he own age that she's not related to." He looked at Merlin and nodded. "Now we just have to sort out Scorpius. I don't like the idea of him living alone and sulking around am empty flat."

"You could get him a cat," Lavinia suggested. "Then his loneliness would have a mascot."

"I'm sure she's just ready for you to settle down and stop shagging everyone you come into contact with." Albus snorted at that and shook his head. "It's only a matter of time before she starts expecting grandchildren. She keeps talking to me about it."

"As long as Albus is happy, that's all we can ask for. My brother should have known how in love the two of you are." Cepheus told Kit, shaking his head. "He should have never did what he did and I'm sorry." He smiled at Kit. "Thanks. I'm thinking about going to school for design."

"I said date. I didn't say get into a relationship with someone." Pansy told him. "Different boy every so often until you find what you're looking for." She opened the door. "No need for the buzzer, dear."

"Scorpius and I still talk. We text." Rex told him with a shrug. "He was talking to a boy named August who he works with. I'm sure that he's going to be fine, Mister Malfoy."

"Cepheus and I want kids," James said, smiling at Albus. "We've talked about it a bit already. I mean, it was right after he proposed, so it's not too serious yet, and obviously we're both young yet, but we're going to have them. She wants you and Kit to start making babies? When does that happen in your ten year plan?"

"You'd be great at it," Kit said, looking around the flat again and smiling at Cepheus. "You've obviously got a gift. I --" He stopped when Scorpius and his mother walked into the flat. "Sorry. I told Albus I'd be with him when Scorpius got here." He grabbed another glass of champagne and brought it over to Albus. "Here you go, just in case."

Albus was the first person Scorpius saw when his mother opened the door and he froze for a moment, because Kit was right beside him and that kind of hurt. Albus bringing Kit to their brothers' engagement party, but this wasn't as big a deal for Albus as it was for Scorpius so why would he try? He walked into the flat, heading for Cepheus, and gave him a tight smile. "Congratulations, Phe."

Draco pulled the door to Cepheus and James's building open. "We'll see," he said. "Scorpius hasn't done a very good job finding boys for himself so far."

"Rex is great," Lavinia said defensively, calling the lift. "I mean, they're not together, but that was Scorpius's fault. There's nothing wrong with Rex."

Albus laughed at that, thinking about when they planned to have kids. "I'll be going to school for two more years. I'll propose in August for the anniversary for the day we met. We'll be engaged for around six months or so while we plan the wedding. I'm not sure we have to wait for our careers to really kick off because we'll probably be doing work before we even graduate. So somewhere around four years."

"Hey." Cepheus smiled at his brother, even if he knew that Scorpius's smile was fake. He wrapped his arms around him and pulled him tight to his chest. "I've missed you."

Rex laughed at Lavinia. "You don't have to defend me so much." He told her, shrugging. "Your father doesn't think I'm right because I'm a porn star. That's fine."

"What are we talking about?" Kit asked, raising an eyebrow at Albus and laughing. "Are you talking about when we're going to have our kids?" The timeline sounded about right to him. "Don't forget we need to get our cabin set up and have our fabulous New York apartment somewhere in there."

James snorted at that. "Yeah, Al was just teasing me about our grandmother pushing me and Phe for kids soon. We'll have them eventually. Phe should figure out what he wants to do with himself before we have a surrogate pushing out babies for us."

Scorpius hugged Cepheus back, closing his eyes for a moment and leaning into his touch. "I missed you too," he said. "I promise I'm here to be supportive tonight, okay? I can be mature and hang out with Lavinia and Rex or something. I'm really happy for you."

It wasn't fine with Lavinia, but she shrugged, looking at her fathers. "They shouldn't make me feel like I need to defend you," she said. "Phe did a great job redesigning the flat, Dads. I think he's thinking about going to school for it?"

"Is he?" Draco asked, perking up at the mention of school. "That would be good for him. Your father has lots of connections in the design world."

Albus beamed at Kit, leaning in to kiss him softly. "I'm already working on our cabin." He admitted as he looked him over. "We just need to move to New York. We should both apply to school there and if we both get accepted, we'll just... go there and make our dreams come true."

"There shouldn't be babies too soon." Pansy told James as she came up to him, smiling. "I'm too young to be a grandmother."

Cepheus shook his head. "Do you want some booze? If we're both going to make it through tonight, we'll need a nip of something."

Merlin nodded at that. "But, you know how Cepheus is. He won't want to accept my help. He'll want to do it all on his own. He never listens to us."

"You're working on our cabin?" Kit repeated, raising an eyebrow at Albus. "God, going to school in New York sounds like a dream. Do you really want to? We could try. There are some great theatre schools there. And think of all the auditions we could get."

James looked at Cepheus's mum and smiled. "No, I think it's still too soon," he promised her. "We'll wait a few years before we have kids. We'd definitely have to move into a house so we could keep them somewhere, for one thing."

"I want a lot of booze, but I'll settle for some," Scorpius said, pulling back from Cepheus and running a hand through his hair. "I knew he was getting back with Kit, but seeing them together still kind of feels like Albus is punching my heart."

Draco sighed, running a hand through his hair as he stepped out of the lift. "I'll be certain not to tell him about the reservations I have over him marrying a boy who broke his heart by sleeping with his brother."

"We're not going to talk about it right now." Albus told him with a snort. "Though, I have been having thoughts about how amazing it would be to raise our kids in New York and get them into the right schools. Letting them perform in little plays..." He was getting ahead of himself, wasn't he?

"Cepheus always loved my vacation home Draco bought me." Pansy pointed out as she thought about it. "If you wanted it. But, it's in the country."

Cepheus looked at Scorpius for a moment, then punched him half-heartily. "Does it feel like that?" He asked, teasing as he grabbed a bottle of wine.

Merlin shook his head. "I've looked into this boy. He seems to be clean." He told Draco, then looked at Lavinia. "What do you think of him?"

Kit laughed, leaning in and kissing Albus for a long moment. "I love you," he said, grinning against his lips. "I would love our kids to preform in little plays. But you're right. We should save this conversation for later."

If they wanted it? James had to get used to Cepheus's family. "We should ask Phe about it," he said. "I don't think living in the country would be so bad. We'd be away from the paparazzi. We could keep a smaller place in the city for when we need to be here."

Scorpius let out a weak laugh, rubbing the spot Cepheus had punched. "No, it feels like he hit me a lot harder than that, but we don't have to recreate it." He watched Cepheus with the wine for a moment. "Do you think somebody's going to love me as much as James loves you one day?"

Lavinia shrugged. "He's been kind of a playboy," she said. "He was always in the papers shagging someone new. I don't know if James deserves Phe back yet, but Phe's really happy so that's the important thing."

"You're right." Albus nodded as he pulled back from Kit. "We shouldn't be planning our future when my brother is celebrating planning his own. It's rude of us to be so in love." He hesitated. "Should I talk to Scorpius?"

Pansy nodded. "I believe he'll say yes. I know that he likes to do his own thing, but Cepheus always listens to me. I don't know why. You can take a look at it at least."

Cepheus gave Scorpius a sad look. "Yes. Of course." He shook his head. "Scorpius, you're great. Don't let what happened change your opinion of yourself. What about that boy you texted me about?"

"If James is willing to settle down for your brother, I think that speaks volumes." Rex shook his head, looking back at Lavinia.

Kit glanced at Cepheus and Scorpius talking off by themselves. "Maybe," he said. "I think if you want to go talk to him, I should stay over here." He kissed Albus's cheek. "One of you needs to be the first one to break the silence."

"I'll ask him," James said, smiling at Pansy. "Or we could ask him together, if you can get him to agree to things. He likes fighting with me too much."

"I told him about Albus," Scorpius said. "Not everything, but some of it. It just... I don't know. How can I date someone when every time I think about Albus or see him I feel all this stuff. I miss him and I love him and I'm so sad. I'm so tired of being sad and I have no idea how to turn it off or how to get over this. Sleeping with someone just made everything worse. I'm kind of afraid of having sex now because every time I've done it, I've regretted it."

"Well, we'll see," Lavinia said, pushing open the door to Cepheus and James's flat. She just wished everyone would be more careful about everything. Being careful never hurt anyway. "They sprung for champagne, so they must be serious."

Albus looked back at Kit, then pressed their lips together. "I'll be back. I love you." He smiled at him and stepped away to where Scorpius and Cepheus were standing. "Hey."

Cepheus looked down at Albus, the smiled at his brother and stepped away to where his mother was talking to James. "What am I missing?"

Rex laughed and wrapped an arm around Lavinia's waist. "We should definitely go for the champagne. So their money doesn't go to waste."

Scorpius gave Cepheus a betrayed look as he left him and Albus alone together, then raised his wineglass to his lips and took a long drink from it. "Hey," he said, trying his best to not look at Albus like a kicked puppy.

James smiled at Cepheus, wrapping an arm around him. "Your mother was just telling me that she has a house in the country you like," he said. "Al and I were talking about kids and I was saying we're waiting a while, but we'd need a house to raise them in. Someplace bigger than this."

"I think so," Lavinia said, grinning at Rex and pulling him away from her dads so they could get the champagne. "And if my dads ask later, I've only had one glass. No matter what the truth is. The bad thing about Scorpius and Cepheus moving out is that they're getting all empty nest on me."

Albus bit at his bottom lip. "Looks like we're going to be family." Was that a good enough of an icebreaker? He wasn't sure how to act now that he was standing in front of Scorpius. "Who would have thought?"

Cepheus thought about the house his mother was talking about. "You mean the Manor?" He asked her, arching a brow. "The place Dad refused to live in because it made him feel too much like royalty?"

Pansy laughed at that. "Yes. The one he gave me when his father passed away. Your grandmother has been itching to move out of it."

Rex grinned at that and shrugged. "Well. You could always get your own place if you wanted." He told her. "You're going to be starting uni soon enough. I suppose you could live on campus."

Scorpius fiddled with his wine glass. He wasn't going to be passive aggressive. He was a mature adult who could handle talking to the ex-boyfriend he still wasn't over. "James and Cepheus are really happy together," he said. "It's really sweet."

James raised an eyebrow at that. "Wait, manor?" he repeated. "I thought we were talking about a house." He'd known it would be big, but a manor? That made people feel too much like royalty? "How big is this place?"

"I've still got, like, ten months to go," Lavinia pointed out. "I think I will move out when I get in to Cambridge, though. Cepheus and Scorpius both did it. It would be fun to live away from home for the first time. I might have to get a roommate though. I'd get lonely."

"Yeah. They really are." Albus nodded as he glanced at where his brother and Cepheus were. "I always knew James fancied Cepheus. Most of the boys he brought home kind of looked like him. You know?"

"Eight bedrooms, four guest rooms, four and a half baths." Pansy stated with a shrug. "The kitchen, sixteen closets, plus the master bedroom, which I didn't include in the other bedrooms. The gardens are quite big."

"She's not telling you everything." Cepheus told him with a laugh. "There's also a guest house, where the caretakers used to live in the eighteen-hundreds."

"Then Antonia would be all by herself to be spoiled." Rex pointed out with a grin, shaking his head. "Might not be so bad. You may enjoy living on your own. I do."

Scorpius looked at James with his arms around Cepheus. "Cepheus was probably always a little too adamant about how much he disliked him. He did get off with James before he started dating Xavier. They're good together." He sighed, looking at Albus full on because there was no way to hide from this any more. "We really weren't, were we?"

"Your house has a house?" James raised an eyebrow at that, looking down at Cepheus. "I knew you were rich, but fuck. What am I marrying into? Isn't all your money in property and... lawyering?"

Draco snorted at that, walking up behind Pansy with Merlin. "My money is old money," he said. "Merlin is the one who actually earned his wealth. Merlin's father was an orphan. He charmed and blackmailed himself a small fortune. Merlin had the brains to earn himself considerably more than a small fortune." Draco gave Merlin a fond smile, then looked at Cepheus and James again. "Congratulations on your engagement."

"Toni would love that, though," Lavinia said, laughing. "Luka tries to keep her so humble and then stops her from going to public school where the humbleness he makes her have would be appreciated. You never get lonely on your own?"

"I wanted us to be." Albus told him quietly, the sighed. "I really wanted us to be. It just... Maybe I was too clingy and I didn't understand what you needed. I was only concerned with what I needed."

Cepheus smiled at his father and hugged him. "Thanks. You're more accepting than I thought you would be." He glanced at James. "It's... There's a lot of money. And either Scorpius or I stand to inherit it."

Rex thought about the question for a moment. "Yeah. Sometimes. I thought about getting a cat, but they just stare at me and judge me when I walk around the house naked. Same thing happened with my last roommate, actually. I need someone who can tolerate nudity."

"I wanted us to be too," Scorpius said, shrugging as he played with his wine glass. "I probably should have known better than to try and jump right into it. You were so lonely and sad. I was someone who was there, offering to love you, and then I left too. And I don't think I really understand what I need either which can't have helped."

"Well, I don't really care about your money," James told Cepheus, leaning in and kissing him. "I just want to hold on to you. Besides, even with the money I give my parents for Lily and Albus's schooling, I've still got plenty and as long as I don't get injured I'll be able to keep playing for at least fifteen or twenty years."

Draco had been a little worried about James's intentions, but it was hard to fault him when he was looking at Cepheus like he hung the moon. Draco sighed, ruffling Cepheus's hair. "I just want you to be happy, Cepheus, and I can tell being with James does that."

Lavinia laughed at that. "Was this before the pictures of you naked got hung up on the walls?" she asked. "I don't know. You've got a really nice body. Why judge it? Except I kind of owe you judging because you judge me for wearing big sweaters."

"I do love you, Scorpius. You've been my best friend my entire life." Albus told him quietly, then let out a soft breath. "I don't want to lose you. And I feel like I've fucked everything up. More so after my brother grilled me about it."

Merlin noticed the look too. It was the same look he'd given Draco when he fell in love with him. He smiled to himself, then kissed Draco's neck softly. "When does dinner get served?"

"Soon." Cepheus promised as he looked around. "James's parents aren't here yet. Don't want to start without his grandmother."

"Do you want to move in with me?" Rex asked her, arching a brow. "If you move in with me, I won't let you wear the sweaters anymore."

"You haven't fucked everything up," Scorpius said, even though he wasn't sure it was true yet. "I miss you a lot. Being your friend. Just... I still need time. Okay? I need to be over you before I can be your friend again or I'm just going to end up back where I was and that's not healthy for either of us."

James nodded. "Lily was having some kind of crisis with her girlfriend," he said. "I don't know if she's coming or not." There was a knock on the door and he grinned. "I should get that. That'll be them." He stole a kiss from Cepheus and pulled away to get the door.

Molly was very excited for this. She'd baked a pie and some biscuits for the occasion. "Cepheus is lovely," she said firmly. "James has been looking for a boy like him for years." She smiled when James opened the door, throwing her arms around him. "Jamie! We're so happy for you."

Ginny was less certain about the sudden engagement, although Harry had told her the breakup was James's fault in the first place. She smiled at her oldest son. "It's faster than we expected, but congratulations, honey."

"Move in with you?" Lavinia repeated. She hadn't meant for it to sound like that, but honestly with her crush and everything, she wouldn't mind. Maybe they'd get to do more touching stuff. "Why don't you ask me again when I finish college, if you want to? I might be mentally prepared to give up the sweaters by then."

Albus looked down at his own glass of champagne he'd gotten and sighed. "Yeah. I know. I want you to be happy." He told him quietly. "More than anything, you deserve that."

Harry looked at his son and pat him on the back. "I can't believe he took you back." He told him with a laugh. "Your mother made some sort of cake." Ginny wasn't the best cook in the family.

Rex laughed at that. "Well. It'll take me that long to be mentally prepared for taking down all my naked photos."

"I'm working on it," Scorpius promised. Kind of. Mostly he was eating his feelings, but that sort of counted. "Just... time. Some distance. But, I mean, our brothers are getting married now so I'm sure we'll see more of each other while I'm working on things."

"Thanks, Mum," James said, leaning in and kissing her cheek. "Come in. Dinner's ready. We just have to get everyone around the table. You should have some champagne." He looked over his shoulder. "Phe! Come meet my mum!"

Lavinia snorted at that. "No," she said. "You're so not allowed to take those down. I want to move in and invite my dads over and watch them squirm like, what, you didn't google him? You've totally seen it all before because they definitely have."
