Charlotte bent down and scooped Bertie up into her arms, chewing on her bottom lip for a moment. "I'm okay," she said. She held Bertie up a bit. "I got a puppy. His name is Bertie."
She scratched behind Bertie's ears. "How are you?" she asked. "Did you... hear about Bruno?"
