As she suspected, she had stunned Geoffrey, and all the same she couldn't help but smile and blush and push her hair out of her eyes. He hadn't fully stepped through, and this was getting a bit tiring, waiting, so to rectify the situation she turned back around, grasped his hand firmly, and tried with what little arm strength she had to pull him through. "Are you coming through, then?" she asked with false impatience.

All this indecision on his part and action on her part, she could get used to this.

"Stop being sorry," she whispered to him, so only he could hear. "You've nothing to be sorry for and I don't wish to hear it." She smiled and the portrait swung shut. And then she let go (but she didn't really want to in the first place), placing her hands on her hips instead.

The common room was relatively empty, it being Sunday evening but not yet curfew, and most of the students heading off to do homework, or out wandering the halls. It wasn't so crowded but it wasn't incredibly empty, either. "Now, I know it's here in the tower..." she started with uncertainty.
