alright, since they have lived there all their lives maybe they were always together at family functions and got along together the best out of any of their other relatives so they've been close since they were younger and maybe meredith was there for her when her whole dad situation went on? i'm thinking that even though they probably run in different crowds a lot now that they are still close anyhow and go to each other for things and whatnot? feel free to add or totally change whatever, just throwing out ideas!
