His stomach turned with the tremble of fear injected into Elijah's voice. Shay held onto him tighter and looked back and forth between the two agents. "He's not a kid. He doesn't have to see him if he doesn't want to. He can refuse visitors." Instantly, Shay expected a fight and he was up in arms to defend whatever Elijah wanted.
Wyatt put a hand up to cease Shay's vigor. "You're right. You're right. Don't be alarmed. All hospitals operate under the common practice of allowing patients to refuse visitors. We came in to let you know." Especially because of their suspicions, they wanted Elijah to be aware that trouble might be coming his way.
That seemed to calm Shay down a little and he looked at Emma. "He's going home with me and my mom. And he definitely doesn't want to see his stepfather."
