"I had to leave overnight for the first time since he's come home. I think I just expected him to be all right and sleep like he always had before." Liam shifted in his seat, changed positions a few times, generally revealing his discomfort with the memory of what had happened. He didn't like to conjure up the mental image of Reagan sitting so helplessly in the middle of all of those books.
"When I came home the next morning, I found that the bed hadn't been slept in at all. He was in the study, and all of the books had been pulled off the shelves. I think he was trying to reorganize them, but it was a complete mess. He was a mess." His voice trailed off and his eyes had averted from Kerrigan's gaze, unable to hold it.
