micah, wyatt

The idea of Wyatt being in danger, especially by an unsub who had taken men for the last five years, did not settle well with Micah. He had to remind himself that Wyatt wasn't just anyone, though. He was an agent of the FBI as well, and he'd had the same training as Micah. But Micah did have law enforcement experience, and Wyatt didn't have that, he reasoned. It was difficult to not want to really protect him, and treat him like he was in protective custody. He knew that Wyatt would not appreciate that.

As they headed up to the younger man's apartment building, he glanced back at the car across the street that he knew Mick was sitting in. It all felt so surreal. Was this really happening? They were really going to use Wyatt and Jude as bait? If it had been anyone else other than Wyatt, would he have such an issue with it?

With a sigh, he followed Wyatt inside and wet his lips as they approached the elevator. He almost hoped that the unsub didn't show up at either Wyatt or Jude's, and he knew that was wrong of him, but he couldn't help it.

Wyatt was doing his best to hide his nerves. He wanted to be brave, even though he was more used to the intellectual side of crime fighting. Once they got to his apartment, the anxiety of having Micah in there finally kicked in and he turned around to press his back to the door. "It's kind of a mess in there. I--I save a lot of stuff. It's organized, but it's very full and it seems ridiculous when you see it for the first time, or at least I think it is because no one's really ever been over."

When they reached the door, and Wyatt leaned up against it like that, Micah put both of his hands against the door on either side of the younger man. It put them a little close, closer than they had ever been before, and he wet his lips as he searched Wyatt's face.

"I'm not going to judge you Wyatt," he said softly. "You don't have to worry, all right?"

Oh god, he wished he'd had the chance to practice. Maybe he'd just lean forward right now and close the small distance. No, bad. His eyes were wide though and all he could do was stare at Micah's lips. "I--just wanted you to be prepared. Everything has its place. Everything is clean. I know you're not the judging type--actually I've been trying to figure out your Myers Briggs personality type and I'm stuck on the last letter which is perceiving or judging. But not judging in the strictest sense, but I'm sure you know all that."

Micah's line of thinking was right on par with Wyatt's, and he found himself wanting to lean in and take the plunge. But they had a job to do, and at the moment, they needed to make sure that no one was inside the apartment. Wyatt's rambling was distracting Micah, though, especially with the way the younger man's mouth was moving with every word. Coming to his senses some, Micah nodded his head.

"I know," he agreed softly, "Lets get inside, we can't hangout in the hallway all night long."

"We could," he laughed a little. "Make it easy for him." Wyatt rarely joked so it was hard to tell if he meant it. He unlocked the door though and let Micah inside. The apartment used to be spacious, except all of his stacks of filing cabinets took up a lot of room. There were storage bins spilling out of the closets, stuffed with different items, rocks, animal specimens, plastic anatomy models. All labeled and neatly stored. And there were books. So many books. "I don't think he'll come for me you know. I don't fit the victim profile well enough. Besides, he'd have to pack too much to take with me."

Micah slipped into the apartment, resisting the urge to look around and take everything in. They needed to secure the place, first. The unsub could all ready be waiting, for all they knew.

"You're a walking encyclopedia that borders on a human computer, you're attractive, and you're in the right age range - and physically you're what he likes, so I wouldn't sell yourself short," Micah said quietl. "And you're a pack rat," he added with a smile as he glanced over at Wyatt, but then his expression shifted to a more serious. "We should secure the area, make sure he's not all ready in here," he murmured quietly.

"But I don't create anything. It's not such a specific talent as the others. Jude fits the profile better. He plays music, you know. And he actually does something talented. I'm not selling myself short." He said it only because he was worried about Jude. Not to mention, his talent might be pretty useful to a serial kidnapper.

He agreed about securing the house though, and provided a sufficient amount of backup as Micah checked the apartment. There were plenty of hiding places and the process was meticulous. When they were done, Wyatt didn't feel much more at ease because he was more concerned about Jude. "Did you want something to drink? I have orange juice."

Micah wanted to disagree and point out all of the little (and to him, big) things that made Wyatt so wonderful and unique, but he held back and focused on the task at hand. Once they'd checked out the apartment, he finally allowed himself to try and see all of the things that the younger man collected.

"Orange juice?" he repeated with a smile, and he turned his head to meet Wyatt's eyes. "Sure," he added, and though he was smiling he could tell that Wyatt was nervous, and he reached out to gently touch the other man's arm gently. "Everything's going to be fine, all right?"

"Do you think it's strange that Agent Montgomery placed us together?" he blurted as soon as Micah touched his arm. It sent a little shock of pleasure jolting through him and he looked worried. Maybe Liam knew and he was testing them. The likelihood of that was statistically insignificant, given the fact that nothing had happened between them. But Wyatt still worried about it.

The question caught Micah off guard, but that was one of the many things that Micah really liked about Wyatt. He was constantly surprising him, and keeping Micah on his toes.

"No," he said after a moment, "Why? Do you think so?" he asked as he tipped his head to the side and let his hand drop away from Wyatt's arm. "I don't make you uncomfortable, do I?"

"That is a very complicated question," he noted and took a deep breath as if he was going to launch into one of his many long winded explanations of such things. Instead, he simply exhaled the breath and rubbed his arm where Micah had touched. "Uncomfortable probably isn't the right word but you make my skin tight, expectant. It's a common symptom of attraction." As if attraction were some sort of viral infection.

"It's okay to be attracted to eachother," Micah told Wyatt as he undid the buttons of his jacket so that he could slip out of it. He draped it over the back of the couch and turned his gaze back to the younger man. "There isn't anything that we can do to change that. I find you attractive, and you find me attractive. Would I like to act on it, yes, very much so... But it's complicated, I guess." That they worked together. A part of him wondered if he should maybe quite the BAU, but he really loved it and he couldn't imagine himself doing as well anywhere else, or being as happy with his work.

He was miserable at hiding emotions and so the disappointment showed on his face. "So you'll probably never act on it then?" he asked as he glanced down at his fingers. He was formulating a plan, a rebellious plan. So what if it was against the rules, how often was he going to find someone like Micah in the world? He'd run the numbers but he didn't have the time right now.

Micah lifted a hand to sweep his bangs out of his eyes. Mostly, it was just to give his hands something to do so that he didn't try to touch Wyatt. He hadn't ever expected to develop feelings for Wyatt, feelings beyond just attraction, but it'd slowly been happening over the past few months.

"I'd... like to," Micah said after a moment. "I want to."

Wyatt considered the possible danger of the situation. "I'll need to practice first," he pointed out in classic bizarre Wyatt fashion. "But I think that maybe I'm going to act on it sometime in the near future." He may as well have handed him a legal notice of intent. Even though he knew it killed the spontaneity of the act, he was comfortable with Micah and he'd never been one to not say exactly what he was thinking at the moment.

A faint smile of amusement tugged at Micah's lips, and he moved to step forward as a hand reached out to settle onto one of Wyatt's hips. Logic had seemed to fly right out the window right then, his body acting on it's own accord. It was so easy to slip into a flirtatious mode when he was alone with the younger man, and this time was no different.

"Practice?" he asked softly, "What would you do if I kissed you right now?"

"Well, I'd probably be really bad at it. A typical french kiss moves twenty-nine muscles in the face and I'm afraid none of mine know a thing about the process." He was so busy concerning himself with formulating the proper answer to the hypothetical question that he hadn't even noticed Micah moving so much closer to him. But he felt the hand on his hip and he focused quickly on Micah's face, expression going a little bit blank, deer in headlights.

"That's not how kissing works," Micah told Wyatt as he stepped closer to the man, so that they're body's were pressed together. "You can't analyze it, it just happens. You're suppose to just live in the moment, and experience it. Not think about twenty-nine muscles in the face. Why are you so cute?"

Wyatt started to launch into a schpeel about the science of attraction in response to the quandary of cute, but he stopped himself because Micah had only just said he should live in the moment in regards to this sort of thing.

"Why are you the only person who's ever really been interesting like this to me?" he countered instead.

It was as if Micah could see the wheels turning in Wyatt's head as he met the man's eyes, and he could tell that Wyatt was trying not to slip into one of his usual tangents. It made the smile on Micah's lips grow a little bit more, and his fingers tightened around the younger man's hip just slightly.

"I have no idea, maybe I'm just lucky," he said softly.

Wyatt moved his mouth closer to Micah's, and then closer again. So close, in fact, that he was touching the man's lips with his own, holding his breath. The spark of even the softest contact was electricity all over his body, but he chickened out and angled his head to the side. He could take little steps forward, but he was quickly and easily overwhelmed.

Micah let Wyatt take those baby steps forward, and when he clearly felt too overwhelmed to take anymore, he let the younger man have a moment to process his feelings before he tucked two fingers beneath Wyatt's chin. He tipped Wyatt's face up, and leaned in to very gently lay a kiss against his lips. It was soft, chaste. He didn't want to push Wyatt too much, but he wanted to give him a little taste of how things could feel. He pulled back after a moment and swept his thumb against the side of Wyatt's jaw with a smile.

"How was that?" he asked softly.

He felt embarrassing tremors shake through his body and he tried to stay as still as he could. His nerves were getting the best of him and he had to shut his eyes and think of nothing other than his own methodical breathing.

After a couple seconds, he nodded. "If just that little kiss can do this to me, I think it's probable that anything more will make my heart explode from beating too hard." He opened his eyes and looked up at Micah for a split second before pushing his mouth forward and kissing him full on. It was awkward and he had to hold onto Micah tightly to prevent himself from giving up. He would learn, he knew he could.

Wyatt's akwardness, to Micah, was one of those endearing qualities that he couldn't quite put his finger on why he liked it so much. It just made Wyatt different from anyone else, and not in a bad way, so when he pushed forward to give Micah that full kiss it only made Micah want him more. He kissed back, letting his hand move to rest against the side of Wyatt's neck as he stepped closer. He kept the kiss soft and took the lead, urging the other to relax as much as he could with his body language.

As soon as Micah took over the lead, Wyatt relaxed a little just from the pressure being taken off his shoulders. His body connected intuitively with Micah's, so each of his movements bent on telling him something were quite successful. Wyatt fell into the kiss, letting his shoulder relax and his body lean into the other's for more support.

The kiss could have gone on forever and Wyatt would have been content. He was desperately trying not to over think it and all in all he was doing a pretty good job because it was damn difficult to think about anything other than the way Micah felt crushed to him.

The second that Micah felt Wyatt's body relax, he stepped forward to gently push the other man against the wall. He pressed in against him, his free hand going to Wyatt's hip as the one against the side of Wyatt's neck moved around the base of it. His fingers curled inwards, and he parted his lips just a little bit, wanting the kiss to deepen but not wanting to overwhelm Wyatt. This was probably not at all what Montgomery had in mind when he'd asked Micah to stay with Wyatt, but Micah couldn't help himself.

Wyatt made a little noise in the back of his throat, feeling the kiss everywhere. It boggled him how just his lips could be a direct line to everything else. He held on tightly for fear that if he let go, he'd wake up, not that his dreams had even gotten this close. He did his best to kiss back, but mostly he simply let Micah pillage his mouth.

Micah liked the way that little groan sounded, and he could only imagine what other noises he could pull from Wyatt if he were to do other things. He let out a soft sigh, a sort of contented noise as his fingers brushed against the nape of Wyatt's neck. After a moment he let his mouth move it's attention to Wyatt's jaw, and downward to his neck.

Wyatt was quite vocal, more vocal than he'd expected himself to be. He let his narrow fingers run down to Micah's hips and they were still shaking so he dug them firmly against the other man's side. He didn,t want to stop but he needed to catch his breath. Pulling back briefly, he stared at Micah's face with a still surprised expression.

There was a part of Micah that wished he could just crawl inside of Wyatt and calm his nerves, but he knew that there would always be a part of Micah that would be somewhat tense and questioning. He didn't really mind that, either. It was all part of Wyatt's charm. He allowed Wyatt to pull back, and he opened his eyes so that he could meet Wyatt's gaze.

"Are you okay?" he asked softly as he tucked a lock of hair behind the younger man's ear.

He nodded. "I knew that the lips were a hundred times more sensitive than fingertips, but I didn't expect that it would feel this good," he said quietly. The fact that Micah was pinning him to the wall just now made itself clear to Wyatt and he was surprised by the fact that it comforted him rather than made him feel trapped or afraid in any way. He relaxed more fully against the wall and brought his hand up to tap the tips of his index and middle fingers against Micah's lower lip. "I was going to practice this with Jude before trying it on you, but I think I'm glad that you were my first kiss. It makes no logical sense, but none of this is very logical."

The fact that Wyatt had wanted to practice this on Jude was mildly amusing, and completely adorable, and so very Wyatt that Micah couldn't help but smile. When Wyatt lifted his hand to tap his fingertips against Micah's lips, Micah kissed at them gently before he murmured, "You've never been kissed before? Really?"

Dropping his hand to Micah's chest, he hooked his fingers briefly over the collar of his shirt, tugging at it as if he was curious to see what was under there. "Nope, never. I didn't really have the most normal of high school experiences, given how young I was." And college had been full of intense study and isolation. "You know, not many people find my stammering and inane recital of trivia all that appealing. It stands to reason that any potential first kisses have been considerably put off by such things."

"Well, I'm glad I got to kiss you at all, let alone first," Micah said as took a hold of Wyatt's hand and tugged him towards the couch. "Lets sit down," he suggested as he led the way and took a seat. It was going to be a long night for Mick outside, but for Micah, he was sure it was going to fly by. "Hopefully it was a good first kiss."

When Wyatt felt the couch beneath him, he was able to breathe a bit easier. His legs still felt wobbly and he couldn't fathom how embarrassing it would be if he lost his footing and went tumbling to the ground. "It was," he said with certainty and then leaned closer to Micah. "It is," he said before he kissed him again, unable to keep from wanting more. Wyatt rarely took such initiative with such things, but he couldn't find the control he usually had and he was starting to lose his hesitation as well.

Micah hadn't been expecting that, and the surprise he felt was a good feeling as Wyatt's lips connected with his again. He lifted his hands up to cup the younger man's face as his eyes flutterd closed, and he kissed back. He scooted closer to Wyatt and allowed his lips to part a little bit as his hands went down to the sides of Wyatt's neck.

He tried not to think about what the other members of the team would be thinking about this. Instead, he focused on how good it felt right now. That was a big deal for Wyatt, living in the present. Each shift and touch brought a little sound from him, as if he was still trying to spout off random facts through the kiss. His hand rest of Micah's stomach, fingers curling around his shirt again. It surprised him just how much his body took over.

The more that they kissed, the more certain Micah was that Wyatt was a natural without even realizing it. Sure, he was a bit awkward - more awkward than most - but he seemed to be letting his body take the lead now. Micah kept on kissing the younger man as he allowed his thumbs to sweep over Wyatt's jaw before one hand slipped up into the man's hair.

He thought maybe he could go on forever like this, just kissing and enjoying the man. But as they continued he was starting to feel his body react embarrassingly. He broke the kiss and leaned his head down against Micah, shoulder. "I--um--I think maybe--" he didn't know how to say that this was starting to push him over the edge of being able to comfortably continue wearing pants.

Micah's own body was more than ready to react, but Micah knew how to control himself, having have years of practice. When Wyatt broke the kiss, Micah let him and he gently swept the younger man's hair away from his face with a warm smile.

"We can stop," he said softly. "We can just lay together and put a movie on, and talk."

Both relieved and disappointed with that answer, Wyatt smiled widely. "That sounds great actually. I have a documentary on the holy grail that is quite well done." He didn't really have normal movies like everyone else. His DVD library was full of PBS specials and National Geographic programming. "Or Meerkat Manor! The anthropomorphizing is kind of ridiculous, but I indulge."

A soft and warm chuckle slipped past Micah's lips, and he pressed another quick kiss to Wyatt's lips before he pulled back to let the other man get up so that he could put something on the TV.

"Either of those sound great," he encouraged as he slipped out of his shoes. While he was enjoying himself, he was still very aware of why he was there, and he was keeping a part of himself alert for any odd noises or anything suspicious. "Do you have a blanket we could share?" he suggested, his smile soft.

Wyatt was starting to calm down and he was thankful for that as he stood up. His TV wasn't big but it was serviceable and he selected Meerkat Manor. After slipping it into the machine, he went to get his blanket with the world map printed on it. When he returned, he sat back down on the couch and relaxed easily next to Micah.

When Wyatt came and got settled back down onto the couch with him, Micah looped an arm around his waist and shifted so that he could get more comfortable. He liked the weight of Wyatt's back against his chest, and he let his chin rest against the younger man's shoulder.

"So this is kind of an official FBI date. I wonder if we ordered pizza if it would be tax deductible." He clicked on the show and was immediately distracted by the scampering creatures and the pithy, dulcet tones of the narrator. He liked the idea that this was a date, not just friends getting together.

"Maybe," Micah said with an amused smile. He turned his head to the side and pressed a soft kiss against Wyatt's jaw before he relaxed again. "Are you hungry? We can order something, Mick might want to bring it up to us though." They'd just have to call her so that she could intercept the delivery guy.

"Yeah," he agreed, realizing that he was, indeed, hungry. He groaned a little though. "As soon as she sees me she's going to know we kissed. I don't know how, but she'll know." He was blushing just thinking about it. Not that he really minded her knowing, but it just made it more real.

An amused laugh escaped Micah's lips, but he agreed with Wyatt. He'd only been a part of the team for a few months, but one thing he'd learned was that Mick seemed to have good intuition when it came to just about everything.

"I'll text her, what do you want, though? Pizza or chinese?" he asked as he reached into his pocket for his cell.

Wyatt sighed. "Chinese," he said as he put his hands in his lap, staring down at them. He just wanted to keep this a secret because he knew if the team knew it would only make things even more complicated. Now that the kiss was over, he wasn't doing very well simply living in the moment. His mind was working overtime as usual and he'd already mapped out a hundred different scenarios for the outcome of this.

"There is a delivery place that focuses on Zhejiang cuisine. It's one of the most innovative schools of chinese cooking. They have amazing dishes--adventurous."

Micah could sense Wyatt's reserve, and he really didn't blame him. They had definitely gotten themselves into one sticky fucking situation, but there was no turning back now.

"Hey," he said softly as he reached over and pressed a quick kiss to Wyatt's lips. "Mick won't tell anyone. She's good at keeping secrets, all right?" He was sure that they could trust her until they were ready to say something themselves.

"Oh no, I know she won't say anything," Wyatt felt bad that Micah might have thought he didn't trust Mick. "It's just that I've never had to keep secrets and I'm not very good at it." Keeping secrets was a little bit like lying, especially if the topic somehow ever came up, and Wyatt was miserable at lying even though he knew all of the indicators, he did all of them and couldn't help it.

The quick kiss left Wyatt's lips burning. "Every time you do that, I want to keep kissing you for hours."

That admission was absolutely adorable, and Micah couldn't help but lean in and steal another kiss, though he let this one linger for a moment before he pulled back and went back to his phone.

"Do you have the number?" he asked, then he furrowed his brow with a laugh. "You have it memorized, no doubt. Silly question. What do you want to eat?"

Wyatt leaned forward and even when the kiss was broken, his chin jutted out as if he'd expected it to go on even longer. He opened his eyes quickly and bit his bottom lip, looking embarrassed at his own eagerness.

"Some chinese donuts and the beef egg tomato dish." He spouted off the number, indeed having it memorized. "Oh, and some pork dumplings and maybe an order of wontons."

"Hungry?" Micah smiled as he texted Mick the order, as well as his, and the number. Just in case she wanted something, too. She texted back and said she'd handle it, and Micah relaxed a little as his arm went back around Wyatt's waist to pull him in closer again. "I'd like to take you on a real date, when this is over."

"Where by 'real date' you mean the kind where we're not waiting for a serial kidnapper to come and take me away?" With Wyatt, it could have been a joke or an honest clarification question. He seemed serious about it though, wanting to be certain how one would classify a real date. He immediately tried to imagine what it would be like. "Should I dress up?" he asked, thinking Micah must have it all planned out in his head already.

"Yes, that's exactly what I mean by real date," Micah replied as he let his fingers slip idly through Wyatt's hair. He kept his gaze trained upon the TV, though his ears were listening to Wyatt and the rest of the house. "And I'm not sure, that depends on where we go. Maybe we could go to dinner, and a museum together."

The mention of a museum made Wyatt beam like a little kid. "How about the National Museum of Crime and Punishment! They have a CSI experience room." Wyatt got very excited about quirky learning centers. "And you can practice cracking a safe. Calculating the possibilities filtered by the autodialer on the safe would be so enlightening." That sounded like the best date ever.

The way Wyatt lit up told Micah that he'd suggested the perfect sort of date, and he let out a little laugh as he nodded his head. "All right, then National Museum of Crime and Punishment it is," he agreed as he rubbed his hand up and down along the side of Wyatt's arm. He couldn't get over how adorable this man was, and he pulled Wyatt closer.

Wyatt relaxed against Micah easily. He was learning quickly how to be comfortable with Micah. It felt natural to be like this. It was strange how simple it was, but now that it was happening, everything was falling into place.

When the knock on the door came, he felt his nerves pick up a little.

Micah could feel the tension leaving Wyatt's body, and it felt nice to know that he was someone who Micah felt comfortable and secure around. He knew that it was a big compliment, and he was thankful for it.

When he heard the knock, he moved to get up and went to answer the door. A few words were exchanged back and forth between himself and Mick, and then she was gone, leaving Micah to lock the door again and carry the food over to the sofa.

"See, she didn't even ask any questions," Micah assured, though she had looked a bit smirky.

Wyatt had buried himself under the blanket like a little boy scared of the dark. At the moment, he could hardly deal with the idea of seeing Mick; she represented the team and Wyatt was starting to have a hard time with the idea of not telling anyone about this. When he heard the door shut, he peeked his head out from beneath the blanket looking even more sheepish than he usually did. "That's because she couldn't see me," he reasoned.

Micah let out a warm laugh, and he leaned over to press a reassuring kiss to Wyatt's mouth before he pulled the takeout boxes out of the bag, along with some chopsticks. He'd ordered drinks as well, and as he opened the straw for his own, he shook his hair out of his eyes with a soft sigh.

"I can tell you're worried," he said after a moment, and he glanced over at the younger man. "We can talk to Liam about things whenever you want, all right? Just tell me when."

Wyatt nodded, feeling relieved to hear that. Sometimes he just needed to be reassured and Micah was proving to be infinitely good at that. Lowering the blanket even more and looked at the buffet of boxes on his coffee table. "I didn't realize how hungry I was. Studies disagree exactly how many calories kissing can burn, and it depends on the intensity, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't quite so hungry before we started."

Micah took a bite of his beef lo mein, and he wet his lips before he looked over at Wyatt with an amused smile. One of his favorite things to do was watch Wyatt eat because the younger man was so particular and neat about every little thing. It was almost like a precise and artful dance, and Micah loved to watch it.

"You'r adorable," he said softly with a grin.

He set the boxes in order and then took out a napkin so he could set one of the donuts on it. That would be his dessert and he set it aside on the corner of the coffee table. With his chopsticks, he started to pick at his food like a bird, pulling the ingredients out one by one instead of taking big bites.

"Thank you," he wasn't sure what else to say to the compliment. It was a good thing to be adored, especially by Micah. "Can we sleep out on the couch together? I mean, unless you want to sleep in my bed with me. I don't care where it is but I would like to sleep next to you."

Micah smirked a little bit, his eyes following each and every movement of Wyatt's hands before his attention drifted towards the other's face. He nodded his head and took a sip of his tea.

"I'd like that, we can sleep in your bed if you'd like," he answered, though he didn't plan on sleeping at all. He'd stay awake and read or something else, just in case something did happen and the unsub showed up he wanted to be alert and awake.

Wyatt's face lit up as if part of him was worried Micah would refuse him. He still understood that Micah was here to do a job and protect him. Going back to his strange eating habits, Wyatt managed to eat everything in order, just as he liked it. The donuts came last and he bit them exactly in half before devouring them. He was skinny, but a mighty eater when he put his mind to it.

Micah smirked and kept all of his attention focused on Wyatt's slender fingers and the way they looked as they curled around the chopsticks. His eyes followed each bite all the way up to the younger man's mouth, and by the time he wa starting on the donuts Micah was finished.

"You cab sure pack away a lot of food when you're hungry," he smiled.

"I really like this particular restaurant," he said a bit sheepishly. "My mother always said she didn't know where I got my metabolism. I used to tell her that genetically it had to be from her or dad, but I don't think she appreciated science lessons from an eight year old."

"Have you always eaten so... particularly?" Micah asked curiously as he wiped his mouth with a napkin. "It's like everything has to be a certain way, or in a certain order... I mean, I know you probably didn't when you were a really small kid - or did you?"

"I used to cry when my peas got into my mashed potatoes." Which was a 'yes.' He'd been a fussy child, OCD for as long as he could remember. Fortunately he could manage it so it didn't run his life, only made him a bit particular. "When my mom found those plates with built in dividers she nearly died of happiness--which is a funny turn of phrase, don't you think? It seems to suggest some sort of heart problem based on a rush of adrenalin or endorphins."

"I guess, I never thought of it that way," Micah replied with a faint smirk before he got to his feet and started to gather their trash up so that he could throw it away. "Do you want to get changed and ready for bed? I brought some sweats and my toothbrush," he said as he glanced up at Wyatt.

Wyatt nodded, trying to be casual about the rush of realization that he'd see Micah in his pajamas and Micah would see him. It just felt intimate and each stap in the direction for him was something profoundly new.

He went into his bedroom, practicing caution in entering the new room for fear someone would jump out at him. When he was done changing, he opened the door to reveal prim and crisp white pajamas. "I'm going to be recording in my notebook for awhile but you're welcome to come in anytime." He wanted to record data from tonight.

Once everything was cleaned up, Micah grabbed his bag and slipped into the bathroom to get ready for bed. It was then that he realized he hadn't brought a shirt to sleep in, though he supposed it wasn't a very big deal. After he'd changed into his sweats, he took his bag and his gun into the bedroom and set the gun down on the nighstand beside the bed. He pulled the files of the case out and settled down in the bed next to Wyatt as he opened one up with a yawn.

"Do you think something happened to the unsub to make him want to start collecting people like this?" he asked after a moment, his voice quiet.

It was impossible not to do some gawking when Micah came into the room. He wasn't an overtly sexual creature, but all he could think about was running his tongue across all of that skin. His throat felt suddenly dry.

"Um. Probably." It was the least he'd ever said to a viable question in his life. He had lots of statistics, and theories but none were able to come out.

"I wonder what it was," Micah said outloud to himself. People reacted in very odd ways in the face of tragedy, or abuse. He lifted his gaze up and glanced over at Wyatt. "It'll be nice if we do find these men alive. It'll be nice to return them home, you know?"

Wyatt nodded, slowly getting used to the idea of a half naked Micah in his bed. "At least it feels like there's hope. We don't get that enough." People they were looking for were usually dead already with only justice left for their familiies to collect.

He opened his notebook, the one he kept on Micah and started to try to quantify what had happened that night between them.

"Yeah, we don't," Micah agreed as he opened up Parker Reigh's file. Five years was such a long time to be held captive by someone, and Micah had a feeling that the unsub did more with these men than just appreciate their gifts. "Can you imagine falling in love with someone, and then have them missing for five years?"

Up until Micah, Wyatt hadn't even been able to imagine falling in love. Now he understood the possibility frighteningly well. "It would make sense that someone would move on in that time frame. Science tells us there really isn't just one compatible mate for each of us." Though Wyatt was starting to think science was wrong.

"I guess that most people wouldn't hold it against someone for moving on," Micah replied as he read over Callaways statement and then the report that Liam had typed up to put into the file after he'd interviewed the man. "But it's probably still hard. They probably feel like they're cheating somehow, you know? There's no closure."
