To Elijah
Adam still held down a job through all of this. While his father had left him some money, it wasn't enough to keep up his extracurricular activities. He made good money as a general contractor and he was good at his job. So good, in fact, that many times his employer had asked why he didn't go into business for himself. Adam always passed it off, saying he didn't want the responsibility of owning a business. Really, he didn't want more time taken away from his passions at home, or the collecting of more. Today, he cut out early claiming he had a doctor's appointment. When he arrived home, he went downstairs and pulled Elijah gently from his cell to take him upstairs. He never expected the boy to struggle.

"I drew a bath for you," he said quietly, leading Lijah to the bathroom, smoothing a hand up underneath the boy's shirt so he could touch his back. It had been a couple days since Elijah had slept in Shay's cell. "Maybe this will help you sleep."
