Anyone with a normal sense of love and companionship would have taken Elijah's actions as those of a broken spirit. But Adam saw his cooperation as a relationship. He leaned in and kissed the boy on the corner of his mouth gently before glancing down the length of his body.
"I'm always surprised by how beautiful you all are." It wasn't just their talent that attracted him. They were all pretty, not handsome. Unthreatening, safe, everything that was the opposite of his father. When Adam looked in the mirror he saw his father, the scruff, the thicker body type, well-muscled, anything but lithe and small. "And yes, he can be nice. He's a handful. What do you think about Reagan?" He took special insight from Elijah, trusting him to 'see' things he couldn't.
