Re: Draco & Pansy & Theo and open.
Pansy barely batted an eyelash-- initially. A bare second had passed after Theodore’s final word, and the girl’s mouth was open, shooting out a fresh, steely reply. “It matters. You are not the general populace. Just because you don’t care, doesn’t mean that everyone else who attends those events doesn’t. On the contrary, they care very much. And besides, boys have the luxury of being able to be more cavalier in regards to their appearance in society; there is a shortage of well-bred, pureblood sons, and far too many daughters to go around. The Weasleys may be drab and live in poverty, but they are the only pureblood family we’re aware of who have as many sons as they have sickles in the bank.”
Knowing she was only being prodded at for amusement after his confession, something she quite often did to other people when she was feeling especially callous, the Prefect slowly-- and sincerely, seemingly-- appeared to tire of Theodore. She did not like being on the other end of such playful manipulations. Even as she spoke, her eyes began to drift out among the crowd of masked wanderers, wordlessly remarking on this dress and that robe, as if he were dull. “There is a big difference between hurt and annoyed, Theodore, don’t flatter your efforts that greatly. You were not that sharp.”
His final assertions squeezed a steady response out of her, eventually; Pansy’s hand raised and two of her fingers have a dismissive, tiny flick. Looking back toward her house-mate, she concluded: “Keep assuming whatever you like, my friend, but silence doesn’t confirm as much as you think-- some of the time. In regards to love, there's no horrible connotation in this situation, since Draco is fabulous. But as I said, things of this nature are none of your business”--
--“and on a completely unrelated note, if you call me pudding again, I’ll hex that grin right off your face.” For a threat, it was a rather lazy one. Pansy mustn’t have meant it entirely. Behind her mask, her eyebrow arrogantly arched. “The only men who refer to women as a sort of food are the have-nots or the pigs. I do hope you try to be neither.”
