Draco watched Pansy go, wanting to go after her. He ran a hand through his hair and turned his attention back to Cepheus. "Rider, you should go," he said. "Scorpius knows. Cepheus should know too."
Rider hesitated for a moment, then set the bottle of whiskey down between them before leaving. Draco picked up and took a swig. "The worst things that ever happened to your mother, the worst months of her life, all started with pictures of her and Rider being published," he told Cepheus, voice soft and serious. "Lucius Malfoy was a bastard. A sadist. He locked Pansy up in the manor. He didn't let her eat. Barely let her sleep. Put curses around the rooms where he kept her to keep her in and the rest of us out. He physically and sexually abused her for months."
Draco paused for a moment. "And... well, he was working at Hogwarts, but he'd sent me to Durmstrang. I knew Charlie when he was the groundskeeper there and I was... close with the groundskeeper at Durmstrang too. They let me in and out and covered for me and I made sure Lucius didn't touch Pansy again, but by that time... Well, there was you and your brother to consider."
