Scorpius mainly felt happy. He and Albus were official now, boyfriends, even if he felt a little bad about it every time one of the Hufflepuff's glared at him, it was good. Life was good. Only there was Cepheus and his pictures to think about and Scorpius had gotten letters from his father and his mother and Charlie telling him what he should do about the photos and about Cepheus knowing about Lucius and none of it really seemed all that helpful.

When he heard rumours that Cepheus and James had finally returned to the school, he'd gotten the Gryffindor password from Albus and run to the tower to see if it was true. Cepheus was probably mad, but Scorpius was hoping it wasn't at him.

James sat on Cepheus's bed, feeling a bit... apprehensive about going back to the real world. But they'd missed a week of school and anything else would hurt his NEWTs and his Quidditch game. Even if he'd gotten Cepheus to go flying with him at home. He'd already had his offers from Puddlemere, the Arrows, and the Tornadoes pulled. He didn't need to give the others more of a reason. He ran a hand through his hair. "Everyone talking about how good we look naked can't be any weirder than my mum falling in love with you. Right? Worse things have --" He stopped when he saw Cepheus's brother standing in the doorway. "You've, uh, got a visitor."

	Cepheus glanced up from where he was sitting on the bed, still feeling kind of miserable about everything. Even if James's mother had liked him. He still felt miserable. "Why would I want to say horrible things to you?" Scorpius asked, frowning at Cepheus a little as he walked into the room. "Do you know there were half a dozen photographers lurking around Hogsmede on Valentine's Day looking for the two of you? It's disgusting."

He sat on Albus's bed and glanced at James, feeling a bit awkward about Cepheus dating someone the three of them had made fun of forever, but as long as they were happy. And they'd seemed like they were, before all this. "Mum and dad told me you knew about... the stuff."

	"The stuff that you kept from me?" Cepheus asked. He still felt resentment towards his brother for not telling him the truth. He frowned at him. "The stuff that you should have told me about as soon as you heard about it?" He shook his head. "How could you have not told me? We're twins, Cepheus. "They asked me not to tell you," Scorpius told Cepheus. "I would have said otherwise. They -- Mum was really upset I found out, okay? She must have been upset when Dad told you. She --" He glanced at James, feeling a bit uncomfortable that he was here for this, but Albus knew. Maybe James should too. Cepheus had probably told.

"Mum started going on about what a horrible child I was and I told her I got why she hated me so much now, because I look just like him, and then she stated apologising and when we saw Dad he was convinced you shouldn't know because it would be hard on her and then there's Xavier and Rory to think about." He shrugged. "I wasn't even sure Charlie knew at first."

James hesitated for a moment, then nodded, kissing Cepheus briefly. "Right," he said. "I'll just go to mine and you can come find me when you're ready to." He left the room.

Scorpius waited for James to leave, then turned back to Cepheus. "He is our father, Cepheus. He's the one who raised us. I wouldn't say I thought it was okay, but I knew it wasn't my place to tell you. It's mum's secret, not mine. And you must know how awful it feels to find out about... everything. Why would I want to put you through that?" He shook his head. "I'm sorry. At least you haven't had to walk around for two months keeping the fact that our father is our brother who killed our real father from everyone."

Cepheus stopped and looked back at Scorpius. "That doesn't matter. I deserved to know. This effected me and I would have rather you felt you could tell me about all of this than to let me keep going on thinking that he's my father. And he's not. Raising us or not."

He shook his head. "It's just... I wanted to know. And you didn't tell me. And I feel like I can't trust you now."

Scorpius blinked at Cepheus in awe for a moment. "You... Merlin, you're right." He laughed, running a hand through his hair. "I hadn't even thought of that. We don't have to do it. Rory's stuck with it. And she'd be way better at it than either of us."

He paused for a moment. "Do we have to tell Rory to make it work, or should we just blackmail Mum and Dad? I can be a cursebreaker."

Scorpius laughed a little, hugging Cepheus back. "Was that when we both decided we liked Albus?" he asked. "Some things are too obvious to not agree on. I'm sorry, Phe. I mean it. I like the idea of blackmailing them too."

He tugged on one of Cepheus's curls lightly. "So from what I gathered they didn't handle the photos of you very well. Xavier punched a couple kids while you were gone. For saying things. Albus and I have been trying to shut people up too, although I think that mostly got them whispering about how we're both dating Potters."

Scorpius laughed a little. "Yeah," he agreed. "I'm pretty sure I do. I love him. I just... want to me with him forever, you know? And now he's finally broken up with Kit and we can hold hands walking down the halls and everything."

Scorpius looked at Cepheus for a moment, then shrugged. "They're out parents. If they didn't tell us not to have fun, they wouldn't be doing their jobs, you know?"

"Just don't fuck in the halls." Cepheus snorted at that, then grumbled and sank down into the pillows. "You don't want to know the kind of hell I've been through this week."

Cepheus shrugged at that, letting out a tiny sigh. "I don't know." He told him. "I understand why they do what they have to do, but they learned from their mistakes. We should learn from our own."

Scorpius snorted. "If nothing else, you've served as a good cautionary tale for us. We need to be careful or everyone is going to see the two of us fucking. We'll be cautious." He chewed his bottom lip briefly. "There are... dirty pictures of me that exist, but they're pretty safe."

He raised an eyebrow. "So?" he asked. "What did you learn from this? Not to let your cock do the thinking for you? Or James. James has a habit of doing stuff like this. He's just usually not around you when he does it so no one takes a picture."

I don't think Mr. and Mrs. Potter liked either of us enough to let one of us stick around without one of their sons here to justify it, so your other option would be going home and I doubt you'll want to do that."
