Pansy was tired, mostly. She'd gotten a muggle breast pump so that she could feed the babies and not have to actually touch them. But, for some reason she'd been left alone in the house with them. Literally, everyone had left but Rider and she didn't even really want to look at them.

But, there she was. In the nursery looking at them as they slept. The blond one looked a lot like Lucius. Too much like Lucius. Even if the other was slightly brunette, his hair was still blondish. She sighed and then looked over her shoulder. "Rider!" She called from the nursery. "Rider! Could you come here, please?"

Rider wasn't sure leaving Pansy alone with the babies was a good plan, and it wasn't like he was going to be much help with them, but if Draco and Narcissa thought this might make her bond with them, he was willing to try it. Besides, Draco looked like he was going to pass out any minute. Maybe studying for NEWTs and raising infant twins weren't meant to be done at the same time.

"Yeah?" He walked into the nursery, glancing down at the babies over Pansy's shoulder. "Is something wrong with them? I have no idea how to get them to shut up once they start crying. Draco and Narcissa are the only ones who can do that."

	"Well. They're not crying or anything." Pansy pointed out and then looked down at the babies. She looked at the brunette one, then hummed softly and pointed at it. "Which one is that?" 	Rider looked Pansy over carefully and then nodded, picking Cepheus up. "This one's Cepheus," he said. "He's the one I'm always holding because I think he looks the most like you." "Oh." Pansy nodded and looked at the baby in Rider's arms. She shifted awkwardly in front of him, chewing at her bottom lip. It felt odd. Partially odd to know that the baby had come from her and partially because Rider was coddling it so much.

Hesitating, Pansy reached out and touched the baby's hand. She looked up at Rider for a moment, then took the baby into her arms and held him close to her chest. "He'll be a good brother for Xavier."

Rider gave Pansy a slightly surprised look. That was a big step up from ignoring the babies completely, and one out of two was pretty good. "He will," he agreed, leaning in and kissing Pansy softly.

He touched her hair and grinned. "When the Malfoys get home we should go back to working on making Xavier. I gave up wanking to increase our chances of getting him. I figure it means there's more to put it in you."

Pansy nodded at that. She didn't catch the look that Rider gave her, or she may have dropped the baby on the floor. She pet at the little curls of hair he had and then looked back at Rider.

"You shouldn't be wanking when you have me." Pansy pointed out and then brought the baby up. She smelled him and smiled a bit. "This one doesn't look like Lucius at all." She pointed out. "I want to keep this one."

Rider laughed a little. "Good," he said. "He's all yours to keep." He let his hand rest on the small of Pansy's back, leaning down and kissing her forehead. Rider spared the other baby, Scorpius, a brief glance. He seemed happy, gurgling in his crib alone, even if he was reaching out towards them.

"Why don't we take him back to our room for a bit?" he asked. "You can spend some more time with him. He's tiny, isn't he? I don't think my kid will be this small."

"Xavier will have to be a protective younger brother." Pansy looked at the crib where the other baby was for a moment. She wasn't an awful person. She did feel bad for the other baby, even if he did look like Lucius.

"I.." She frowned. "I think that you should carry that one. That way he's not alone." She told Rider. "I just don't want to hold him. Do you think Cepheus is hungry?"

	"I think babies are pretty much always hungry," Rider said, picking up Scorpius from his crib. He smiled at Pansy, feeling proud of her for looking out for both babies, even if she didn't want to hold one of them. He started walking towards their room. "Should I get their bottles? 	Pansy looked down at the baby for a moment, then grabbed one of the bottles she'd pumped while she'd been there. "Here." She held out the bottle to him and then walked off after he took it. She carried the baby into her room and lay him on the bed. Sitting in front of him, she stared at him for a moment, then touched his toes. "He's tiny." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Rider followed Pansy back to her room, holding Scorpius and the bottle of milk. He sat with them on the edge of the bed and smiled at Pansy and Cepheus. "He is," he agreed. "I'm always afraid I'll break him when I hold him, but I like his hair and I think he looks like you." Rider kissed Pansy's temple, then pointed to the baby's nose. "That is just like yours." 	Pansy looked down at the baby and laughed softy. "I suppose that is like mine. Poor kid didn't stand a chance with me as a mother. At least he's not pointed like that one." 	"You don't have to look at him," Rider said, glancing at Scorpius in his arms. He put the baby down on the bed behind them, so they could focus on Cepheus for the moment. "I don't think you're crazy. I don't think Draco really thinks you're crazy either," Rider said, watching Pansy with Cepheus. "My father isn't exactly fond of all his kids. There's no rule that says a parent has to love everything that comes out of them. Especially when they didn't chose to have them in the first place."

He reached out and touched Cepheus's brunette curls. "I understand a little better than Draco, I think. I hope I do."

"Yeah, I got him." Rider picked Scorpius up, being careful not to jostle the baby around too much. Draco would get snippy if he came into the room and they were crying.

Draco expected to find Pansy and Rider with the babies in the nursery, but it was empty when he got there. He blinked at the room for a moment and tried not to feel hopeful. He was exhausted from splitting his time between his homework, the babies, and studying for NEWTs. He turned and headed for Pansy and Rider's room, smiling a little when he found them there with the babies. Especially because it seemed like Pansy was paying attention to them. "I thought you'd be in the nursery still."

Draco glanced at Scorpius in Rider's arms and tried not to bring up the fact that they had two babies Pansy could keep close sometimes. This was a big step. She liked one of them. "We can do that," he said, kissing her forehead and smiling. He brushed his fingers through Cephues's hair and smiled at him. "I think a little brother or sister would be good for them. Do you want any potions to make pregnancy more likely? I have to practice for my NEWTs anyway."

Rider gave Pansy a fond look, then passed Scorpius to Draco, pulling Pansy into his lap instead. She felt much better in his arms than some squirmy thing. "I don't know. I wouldn't mind if it took me a while to knock you up. I enjoy trying," he said, kissing her neck.

Draco shifted Scorpius in his arms, looking down at the baby and pushing blond hair off his forehead. Pansy would warm to him eventually. He looked up at Rider and Pansy. "Please don't start practicing in front of me."

	"I'm too busy to have sex," Draco told Pansy, leaning back against her pillows and letting Scorpius rest on his chest. "School, babies, NEWTs. Sex can wait until I have the time to handle it."
