"It doesn't have to be a date," James said, shrugging. "I figured it might be a way for me to make things up to you. You seem upset about the way things happened. I don't like the idea of upsetting you, Cepheus. A night out with the boys? Even if you don't like me, there must be someone else you'd like to get close to."
This didn't have to be a big deal. They could get over it and then Cepheus could come out with James and his friends and James could snog him again after a few drinks. "Come on. Nobody would ignore a text from you on purpose. It was an innocent mistake. Promise."
