Mondays were always kind of slow. Tonight was no exception and Elle spent her time catching up on cleaning around the cafe. She'd scrubbed the kitchen from top to bottom and was now working her way around the nearly empty seating area. Every table was shining, free of the crumbs and coffee stains her customers usually left behind. She wiped down the chairs and was heading toward the coffee fixings counter when the door bell jingled. She headed to the service counter instead and waited patiently, pretending to busy herself by tidying up behind the counter although she'd already done so.
