We're open.
Instead of lj-secing our entries over here and then re-copying comments like we did with the other games, I figured screw it. We've never bothered with any of the previous incarnations of subs. We have a tendency to keep the old story where it is and just move forward. I'm a big fan of moving forward.

I'll try to lj-archive the old comm. If that doesn't work I'll try to back it up some other way.

But anyway. Let's kick this community open and try to be more active with it if we can.

PS: Just in case you forgot I'm kicking your asses in RP Bingo. I'm going to port over my old card (and let's go ahead and count those old logs/threads). If anyone wants a completely fresh start we can do new prompts and I can make new cards. Let me know.

Icon Allotment Being Downgraded
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]agent_anarchy)

Just be aware that Inksome is downgrading their icon allotment from 150 down to 50 on April 1st. I'm not sure how they'll be handling this (deleting any icons over 50, last uploaded, least used (I doubt it). My suggestion is to go through your icons and get them down to 50 yourself. It sucks, but it's better than down to 10 (which was the original plan).

I made us a polyvore group to share character related sets. Beware the panda.

I haven't played over here in a long time, which I feel terrible about, but hopefully we'll get some plot ideas moving and start playing again. Oh man, we could have an RP bingo revival!

Couldn't sleep. Felt industrious.

Updated the off-site archives to include our brief stint on Insane Journal.

I didn't actually sort out what was what, it all just got tacked onto the end of the subverted portion of the archives, but it's done for now. So yay!

Insula De Virsta
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]agent_anarchy)

A few years back a couple of us played this game called Insula De Virsta. It was fairly long running and spanned two communities with epic posts, lots of plots, and all kinds of magical mayhem.

Joey has humbly requested (and I've been pondering a similar idea) a reboot of our much beloved island game. He proposed that we make it a sister to subverted under (since some of our old island characters have been playing here anyway).

I like this idea and I'm ready to roll with it, but it'll take a bit of doing on my part to get it officially ready (all the same, if you played before and you're itchy to bring back old characters, please feel free to make a journal for the game and start playing).

For those of you new the island I'm going to explain it on the agent_anarchy journal (here). No obligation, but there's room for crossover and mayhem if you want to join us.

The community is [info]the_island if you'd like to take a browse. Sadly, the old game was on greatestjournal and while I have the archive of it on my computer I haven't put it up anywhere.

Any questions or comments will be answered below if you ask.

RP Bingo Rules
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]agent_anarchy)

1. Have fun!

2. One thread or log counts for 1 square only on your card. However, one thread can count as a square for more than one person playing (so if Sass and Becky play a thread about low batteries they can both count that square off, or if Joey and Kierstin play a thread about locked out and mistaken identity, they can each decide which square they'd rather have count).

3. You can play for more than one bingo on your card. You can also go for broke and try for a blackout (playing every square on your card).

4. The center square is a wildcard and you can count any thread or log towards it, or pick your own prompt from the list.

5. There aren't really any prizes beyond having activity in this community again, but maybe we could make icons or art or fic for each other if anyone feels like being a prize peddling panda.

6. There are no deadlines for finishing your bingo and this could be an ongoing game if everyone is up to it. If you want a new card you'll have to beg me, because making them is a bit of a process.

7. If you want to keep track, please do so in the OOC and tag it with rp bingo. You can alter your card once you get it (crossing out squares you've finished in mspaint or whatever you like) as a visual guide, or simply list off what you have.

8. Again, have fun! I'm really looking forward to this game within the game!

So! Reply here if you want a card and I'll set one up for you.

Crazy Idea. Brainstorm.
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]agent_anarchy)

So I'm playing this whacky fiction writing game called kink_bingo over on dreamwidth. And I think we could play it with rp to maybe jump start the action over here.

Essentially everyone who wanted would get a card with 25 squares (24 prompts and one wildcard on the middle which could be pretty much anything). You just try to do five in a row and make a bingo out of your card; one thread or log per square. The prompts could be interpreted fairly liberally, this is just an idea to get us interested in subverted again and playing like we used to.

Becky and I are working on prompts to put on the bingo cards, but we should all brainstorm right here in comments.

List so far )

A Family Gathering, open to any Parrish or Westerveldt
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]cityofstrangers)

The penthouse apartment, for one reason or another, had always been a common meeting place for the Parrish-Westerveldt family. If they wanted to see each other, that is. Renee wasn't at the top on the list for inviting family over (unless for a party) so it was quite out of character when she invited them over for dinner.

She had randomly decided to have the family dinner in hopes to resuscitate their family back to life. It seemed for the past year, after the twins shocking disappearance, that the family seemed to quietly die. No one talked about the devastating news that most likely took the lives of two of Renee's sisters. And for Renee it had gone on long enough. She was sick of being shushed when she tried to bring it up and she felt like she was going to crack if she didn't let how she felt out. If anything positive had come from Ingrid and Rachel's disappearance it was Renee's need for family, a complete opposite of the Renee one year ago.

The dining room table was full of food and the chairs were filled more than Renee had expected. The room was quiet still, with only the sounds of silverware moving and servants' feet shuffling, but their presence was enough to ease a fraction of Renee's nerves. She hoped someone else would break the silence, and soon, because if she took the floor first it would be full of irrational emotions and running eyeliner.

Bottom of the Barrel
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]cityofstrangers)

Her arms crossed over her chest as her hands held her shoulders. Her grip was hard and pulled the skin on her back tight. It would hurt if Mindy's mind was anywhere inside her head. She heard the bathroom door open and close but it didn't register. It wasn't important.

Geri stepped slowly across the tiled floor of the bathroom in the apartment she shared with Mindy. Geri looked down at the floor when her foot fumbled over a black high heel. She noticed it's match close by as well as a black dress and black stockings lying on the floor like a trail of bread crumbs leading to it's owner.

Crappy little moods
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]katrana)

Enough was enough. Kat hadn't been at work for a week, calling in 'snappy' for the past four days. It was unlikely she'd be any more amiable tomorrow, either. She was sick of her job. Sick of working for a living, sick of earning minimum wage to maintain their crappy little lifestyle in their crappy little apartment in crappy little Burnham City. It was putting a strain on her crappy little mood (which, to be quite honest, had always been rather fragile) and was making her resent what she was coming to think of as her crappy little marriage.

She wanted to go home. Hug her children, then possibly go on a very long vacation away from them and everybody else just to collect her thoughts. She barely knew herself at the moment.

Leaving Burnham
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]restless)

Bernadette's bags weren't as heavy as she remembered. Margaret insisted that she pack everything important. "I'm not certain we'll return."

That statement struck her as terribly off, but she couldn't explain how at the time. Now they were standing in a dark field and some shady woman had sauntered up to Margaret with an envelope. Bet was trying to listen in, but their voices fell flat and didn't carry far enough.

Margaret shook the woman's hand, shoved the envelope into her jacket pocket and walked back toward Bet. "Are you sure you have everything you want to take with you?"

What is this about? )
