LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]all_these_fools)

Who: Anton, Chris, Jimmie
When: Saturday afternoon July 11, 2009
Where: Cosmic Diner, Burnham City
What: Friends playing catch up
Note: Rated R for dropping some F-bombs. Also it's kind of craptastic. I haven't been in the habit of writing lately.
Bingo: Your Mom

Chris and Jimmie arrived first, taking the liberty to find a table and order drinks. They were waiting for Anton, who was coming from across town. He was notorious for being late so it wasn't much of a shock when they arrived just as the clock hit four and their friend was not there.

"Have you seen Anton lately?" Jimmie asked, settled into the seat next to Chris, leaving the other side of the booth open for Anton.

"Not seen. Speak online every so often." Chris answered quietly. He was nursing a bad headache, most likely weather related. It had been sunny for the past week but Saturday afternoon brought in the clouds and threats of thunderstorms littered all the local weather reports.

"Awesome." Jimmie said with a smile, then a look of concern crossed his features. He reached his hand up to gently press against the side of Chris' face. "You feeling alright?"

"I'm good." Chris said with a tiny nod and lean into the touch. "I just need some caffeine."

And as if the waitress could read his thoughts, she returned with a large diet cola and a pitcher of hot coffee and two empty mugs. She set them on the table and said with a smile, "I'll be back when your friend arrives to take your order."

Jimmie thanked her while Chris just smiled. They watched her walk away before reaching for their drinks. The soda was Jimmie's and Chris poured himself a mug of coffee and reached for the little creamer packs and sugar bowl. He loaded up the coffee until it was light and sweet, just the way he liked it.

"If Anton doesn't get here in the next five minutes, I am ordering food without him. I'm starving." Jimmie said.

Chris grinned. "You're always starving. I don't understand how you're not some fat ass, you eat like one."

"It's all the sex." Jimmie teased. "Or I just lucked out with the worlds greatest metabolism."

"I'd go with the metabolism. I don't want to hear about sex right now." Anton said, seeming to appear out of nowhere and sliding into the booth across from his friends.

Chris laughed. "I don't want to hear about it either, to be honest." he said, smiling at their friend.

"Oh bite me." Jimmie said and turned to look for the waitress. Anton had arrived and he wanted his food.

"You look good." Anton said, "The both of you. It's been a while."

"Long while." Chris commented.

"So I see you're still late to things, as usual." Jimmie said, not accusingly. He laughed and picked the lemon from the side of his drink and gave it a squeeze before dropping it into the glass and swirling it around through the ice with his straw (that's wrapper was sent flying across the table to hit Anton square between the eyes.

Chris laughed again. "So why were you late this time?" he asked, "I'm ready to hear this excuse." he added, good naturedly.

"Banging your Mom." Anton said, quick to reply and a big grin crossing his face.

"Don't talk about my mother that way." Chris said, dead panned but seriously not offended.

"She let's me." Anton shot back. "She let's me do a lot of things."

Jimmie was cracking up inside but did his best to try and act as calm and cool as his boyfriend was. He shot a glance to Chris and at that, they both cracked and started laughing.

Anton too was laughing and reached for the empty mug. "Mine?" he asked.

"Not after that crack about my mom it's not." Chris said, reaching to take the mug back but Anton was too quick and scooped it into his hand and pulled it from the table and out of reach.

"You know I love your mother Chris." Anton said, grinning.

"Oh, you love her alright." Jimme added, only to be smacked in the arm by Chris.

"Stop encouraging him." he said quietly.

"Your mom's encouraging." Anton said, setting the mug back down and reaching for the hot coffee to fill it up.

Chris just rolled his eyes, "Yes. Let's make this whole day about my mother. I could give her a call, invite her along."

"I wouldn't do that." Anton said, face still. Whatever he was plotting to say inside his mind was well hidden behind a perfect poker face.

"And just why not?" Chris asked, "Oh wait, it's because she's at your place and tired from a night of fucking, right?"

"Oh dude!" Jimmie shouted, setting his soda back down on the table with a bit too much force it almost knocked over. "That's sick."

"Twisted." Anton added. "But very nice."

Chris only grinned. Inside his head was spinning. Damn weather and thinking things that made his brain hurt.

"How's your mom doing, by the way?" Jimmie asked Anton.

"She's very well." Anton replied. "Haven't called her in week."

"I've called her." Chris added weakly.

"Bullshit. Leave my mom out of this. She's a saint." Anton said with a smile.

"Oh, and my mother isn't?" Chris said, mocking offense.

"Course not. She raised you. How saintly could she be?" Anton teased.

Jimmie laughed. "He's got a point."

"Fuck off." Chris shot at Jimmie. "No one asked you." Had he not been chuckling a bit, someone might have thought he was seriously mad.

The conversation died when the waitress returned to take their food order and Jimmie rattled off a list of food for himself.

"I'm good with coffee." Anton said, skipping over the food. He'd actually already eaten. He was on a special diet, having gained a couple extra pounds since the beginning of the year.

Chris ordered a small salad and informed Jimmie that he'd be sharing some of his food. His head hurt too much to eat a lot. Headache always seemed to mess with his apatite.

"Now I look like a fat ass." Jimmie said, once the waitress was out of earshot.

"You are." Anton and Chris said at the same time.

Conversations were had and a lot of food was consumed and the time had just zipped by. It came time for the friends to part ways. Anton had to stop off at his job before returning home to be with his fiance. And Chris and Jimmie took off down the other side of the street, headed to their apartment.

"Hey Chris!" Anton called, half way down the block.

The two men, Chris and Jimmie, turned to their friend.

"Tell you're mom I've got to cancel tonight. Got other plans." Anton said with a shit eating grin.

"Alright." Chris said, the coffee and food having cleared his head somewhat. "But she's gonna be disappointed."
