Andrew and Ian had just gotten home from work when they were attacked at the door by Amelia, her puppy eyes were already on. She was desperate to get something and the boys had no idea what it was. "What's going on Lia?" Andrew asked flopping onto the couch.

"Andy, I'm a young lady now…"

"Oh god," he interrupted her thinking of the worst possible situation. A boyfriend? Birth control? Parties? She was only fifteen! Just a baby!

"No…. no, it's not anything to worry about. Let me finish."

"Okay."

Ian and Annie tumbled into the living room from the hallway and crashed into the couch.

"I'm a young lady now and I want to start taking on more responsibilities. I already have a part time job at the store and I think it's time for something else. I want… a puppy," Amelia said, folding her hands in her lap.

"You want a dog?" Andrew was relieved. "That's… that's it. That's all you want?"

"Yes please," Amelia's eyes got bigger. "Pretty, pretty please."

Andrew smiled. "Alright, do you know where you want to get the dog?"

"Yes! My friend's French bulldog had puppies! They're almost ready to get new homes and I've been hanging out with them for weeks now and there's this one and he's so cute and he loves me! I know he does! And he wants to come home and be my puppy!" Amelia was practically gushing about the puppy that she had been spending time with practically every day since he was born.

Andrew smiled. "You have your heart set on this dog, huh?"

"Yes," she looked like she could practically cry if he said no.

"How much will the little tyke cost?"

"Well since it's my friend's dog his mom said I could have the dog for two hundred which is amazing because most Frenchies go for like a thousand! And don't worry I have the money from my job!"

"Ian?" Andrew looked at his friend. "How do you feel about the pitter patter of little paws in the apartment?"

"I'm fine with it, how is the lease?"

"Doesn't say no," he shrugged. "When can you pick him up?"

"Tonight if we want!"

Andrew shrugged and smiled. He knew this would make Amelia's day and she was such a good kid. He really wanted to do this for her. "Give your friend a call and tell them we're coming to get your puppy."

Amelia screamed and jumped up excitedly. She crushed her brother with a hug. "You're going to love Franklin! He's so cute! So friggin' cute!!!"

"Lia's getting a puppy?" Annie asked.

"Yes she is," Ian told his daughter.

"Oooo… cool! I want to pet him… but don' worry Lia, I will use gentle hands," she said with a nod of her head.

Amelia gave Annie a kiss. "Of course you will," she smiled. "Let's go get Franklin!"

Once Amelia retrieved Franklin they went to a pet shop in Burnham city and bought a new leash and collar, a few doggy outfits, some treats, puppy toys, doggy food, and doggy bowls. Andrew helped with the cost and insisted the Amelia not pay him back. They had a great time, playing with the puppy once they got him home and snuggling with him.
