(Thread) Not So Typical Saturday Night [Alex& Angie with an early appearence of Ben]
LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]all_these_fools)

It was a Saturday night; a cold and rainy Saturday night in the middle of November. The time was just about ten thirty and Alexander Williams was laying in the dark. He was shut up inside his room and was curled up in bed. His head was against one of the many pillows. He had the covers pulled up around him, tucked tightly under his chin. His eyes were closed but he was most definitely not asleep. He couldn't sleep. Not this early in the night and not when he had all sorts of things on his mind. He didn't want to think about any of the things but they were there, pecking away at his brain cells and final strings of sanity. He could feel the start of a migraine coming along.

Slowly he opened his eyes and the glowing blue light of his clock radio burning the time into his retinas. He shut his eyes again and cursed. He'd picked a blue colored light on his radio in hopes it wouldn't be as bright as the green ones were and the blue was easier to see than the red. Either way, the blue was just as bright as the green and Alexander did not like that. He noted that he'd stop off to buy a new one Monday after work.

He was jolted from thought when there came a knock on the door.

"What do you want?" he asked, as the door swung open before he even invited the knocker inside.

"What do you mean what do I want? What the hell are ya still doin' in bed?" Benjamin asked, barging into the room as if he owned the place. The tall and lanky mess of a man walked across the room and plunked down on the foot of his roommate and best friend's bed. "I do believe you've got places to go." he said, poking Alexander's feet through the blankets. "Up up up!"

"'m not going." Alexander said, turning his head so his face was buried in the pillow.

Benjamin jumped to his feet. "What do you mean you're not going?" he sounded almost hurt.

"Why do you care?" Alexander mumbled.

"Because you've been talking about tonight for over a week! Get up and go! Sir Benjamin Mason insists upon it." Benjamin said as if it were the most obvious answer. He pouted a bit then frowned. "You're not still mad about this afternoon, are you? I told you I was sorry."

"You did not say you're sorry!" Alexander said, rolling over and sitting up. The covers fell to reveal that he was dressed and ready to go out. "And yes, I'm still a bit pissed about that. It's not something I'm just going to forget. But that's beside the point. I'm just not sure I feel like going out tonight. I mean, what if I make an ass of myself?"

"Well, then you can come back home alone and depressed and I can cheer you up by reminding you that I'm clearly the more awesome person in this apartment." Benjamin teased. He serioused himself up and smiled slightly. "Plus, you're already dressed to go, you should go."

Alexander shot him a dirty look for the first comment and swung his legs out from under the covers. He stood up and crossed the room, picking a brush up from his dresser. He stood at the mirror, combing out knots in his shiny black hair but there was no smile on his face. "I dunno. I just don't feel up to it." he said sadly. He dropped the brush back to the dresser top and turned to face his friend.

"I'm a bit shot from the attack this afternoon and still pretty pissed about how you chose to embarrass me over helping me." Alexander said. "But," he paused then shook his head. "You really think I should go?"

"Yes! Go. Have a great time. See Angela? Amanda?" Benjamin said with grin.

"Angie." Alexander corrected. He turned back to the mirror and smoothed a wrinkle from his shirt.

"I'll go." he said, turning away from the mirror and stepping towards the door.

"Right. Great. Have a good time." Benjamin said with a toothy grin. "Don't come back too early." he said with a wink and shot his best friend a cheesy thumbs up.

"I won't." Alexander said, eying his friend strangely. He reached for his jacket and slipped it on. "You don't wait up for me." he said, trying to smile even as the pain in his head seemed to flair up.

"I won't." Benjamin said, mimicking Alexander's answer from before.

As Alexander left his room he could feel Benjamin on his heels. He felt as if his friend were acting a little strange. Well, more strange than he usually acted. He reached the door and as he was about to open it, there came a knock.

Alexander pulled open the door and was greeted with two very attractive young women. He smiled, a little lopsidedly and turned to Benjamin.

"Don't hurry back." he said with another grin and pushed his friend out the door before ushering his lady friends inside.

Alexander laughed a bit and shook his head in amusement and complete puzzlement. He made his way to the stairs, unable to use the elevator due to a strong phobia.
