Phillip paused when the other man addressed him. Then he turned to face Victor, something between disgust and disbelief on his face. "I am not interested in bedding maids," and yes, he managed to say that with rather a lot of scorn.

"But," he continued, "a bath and a bed would be what I'm after." At least until he could continue the search for home the next day.
