Under normal circumstances, Ashleigh would have been more than happy to spend the rest of the night wrapped in his arms. This wasn't normal circumstances, though. Ed had kissed her... he'd really, really kissed her. As much as she usually enjoyed losing herself in her boyfriend, she knew that she wasn't going to be able to do that as long as she was thinking about the kiss she'd shared with her best friend.

A wave of relief washed over her features when he assured her that they were alright. With the way he'd been acting a short while ago, she'd worried that they weren't... that she'd messed up... that he was going to break up with her. She was glad that wasn't the case.

"Good," she breathed.

Rather than pulling away complete, she lifted herself onto her toes and brushed her lips over his. Her fingers tightened around his, but she didn't try to deepen the embrace.

"I'm glad," she murmured.

It went without saying, but Ashleigh really liked Aaron. He wasn't Ed, obviously, but he was... him, and she liked him.

"When this party is all over, we're going to have to go out... just the two of us." She paused and a blush tinted her cheeks. "Or, you know, stay in..."
