Ashleigh didn't like to lie to her father. She would if she absolutely had to, of course, but as far as she was concerned, this was not one of those moments. It would've been nice to spend the night with him. At least, she thought it would've have been. She didn't think that was a good justification for betraying her father's trust, though.

"I'll talk to him," she promised.

Once again, she lifted herself onto her toes and brushed her lips over his. Rather than immediately pulling away, she lingered in the embrace for a few moments. When finally she did pull back, though, she glanced around the room.

"I should probably find Ed," she murmured a little hesitantly.
