"Not often, but recently it has." She'd leave it that vague because -- well, she was sure that he was probably someone who'd frown upon marrying a stranger just so that you could move across the country.

In fact, since she'd gone to school with a Wilkes ... she was pretty positive that he wouldn't approve. She shrugged a little and shook his hand lightly -- she'd never been a fan of serious handshakes. She thought to offer to leave him alone, but he really looked rather ... irked.

So she shifted. "Er, so. You work here? Where?"
