m a t t i e ❁ ([info]matildas) wrote in [info]valesco,
She was in a tizzy of excitement. The whole reason behind finding a date to the ball was to get John jealous, and while she'd been sure she would have heard a muttering about it at home, never in her wildest dreams would she have thought he'd show up here. Matilda was beyond ecstatic, and she couldn't remember accepting his invitation, but she found herself on the dance floor a moment later.

Matilda opened her mouth to speak, maybe a comment about the decor or how the dancing was a bit awkward now with her stomach creating a bumper in between them, but she couldn't find anything. She was just too...she supposed moved by John's gesture. Which was strange, because a wife shouldn't be surprised that her husband did kind things for her, but when your husband was John Mulciber, you needed to make all the little things count.

Letting out a breath, Matilda pushed as close as she could to John and pressed her face into his shoulder. She took a deep breath to try and get herself to not cry (from everything but being upset), and moved slowly with the music.

Goodness, this man.
