"Just every once in a while isn't going to kill anyone," she insisted with an obnoxiously inappropriate pout, similar to what she normally only used with men she was attempting to seduce. Then again, that hadn't exactly been her first glass that he'd pulled out of her hands. "I've been good til now!"
Lazily, she grabbed for the glass back, but her brother seemed intent on keeping it out of her way--pout dropping into a full-blown frown, she turned back the other way and headed towards the open liquor cabinet to see what else she could find. Amery would come after her, she knew, but that little issue was secondary in her mind to drinking herself into a coma (if she was lucky).
Juliana scoffed and rolled her eyes in response to his comment about---whoever, well, it wasn't as if he knew. Why didn't he know again? It wasn't as if it really mattered, he couldn't do anything about it, not unless he wanted her to lose everything and their family to lose respect and--she didn't know why she didn't tell him, she told Amery everything, her interfering but dearly beloved big brother---
"Don't talk that way about your cousin," she muttered. She said it like she didn't know what she was saying, despite that it had been a premeditated revelation (although possibly not advised). "Christopher can't be here, what would that look like. Don't want him here, anyway."
