Who: Joey and Rosie
What: Couple-y cuteness
Where: Robins wedding
Notes: Finishing in comments...

Joey was at the Robins wedding, in the small reception hall standing there in complete and utter shock. He'd just been talking to Rosie and stuff at the edge of the dance floor about the pretty new bouquet of orange flowers she had in her hands. She was the lucky recipient of the flower toss (something that made him blush because he could see all of the girls in their year start whispering furiously to each other and giving sideways glances towards him), and he had just made his way over to congratulate her when thwap! Something orange and lacy hit him in the face and landed in his hands. What on...

He was going to die of embarrassment. And then come back and kill Keegan because he had just shot the garter at him like a bloody rubber band! He looked down at the orange piece of material and nearly dropped it when he realized that mere seconds ago the thing had been around Ashlyn's leg and--oh God that was weird to think about! He looked up at Rosie, eyes wide before looking around. Ludo Bagman was the first to come over, giving him a huge whack on the back and going on and on about how long it was going to take before he put it on the pretty bird's leg and Joey was so confused!

"Rosie...I...am I supposed to do something with this?" He asked, incredulous, as he switched between looking at her and the orange---thing that was resting in his palms.

Let's just say Rosie wasn't as thrilled as Joey was because he got the garter right in the face, she had the bouquet right in the face! It wasn't like she wanted the damn thing, but it had been like a torpedo, something very hard to miss and had all but went down her throat so she had to take it! Damn, Ashlyn. She was going to attack her later, after she was married for longer than a few hours. But for now she was just standing there, waiting to see who it was that caught the garter, which only caused her to blush a lot when she remembered what that meant. This was why she hated weddings.

When Keegan flung it at Joey's head basically, she blushed even darker, putting the flowers up to her face to cover up just how red she was turning. Oh, this was good. A few people whispered and the girl's giggled, so much so she could just feel it. This was the embarrassing part! But it got worse. Leaning closer to him, she cleared her throat and whispered, "You...." and she blushed darker, wishing she could just disappear right now. "Youhavetoputitonmyleg," she said quickly, still softly so that only he could hear her and how her voice cracked.

"I...I have to what?" he said, his voice getting caught in his throat. Oh my GOD they hadn't even kissed that much and--and they wanted him to--THAT WAS ALL THE WAY UP HER THIGH WHAT WAS THIS INSANITY????

He took in a deep breath. It would be okay...he wasn't a Gryffindor by any means but he could be courageous when he had to be! And okay, so maybe there was a little alcohol in his system. He cleared his throat before getting down onto one knee, giving her a look to make sure she was okay with this before gently grabbing her ankle. He couldn't help but notice how nice her feet looked and how smooth her legs were as he swiftly worked to pull the orange monstrosity over her shoe and slowly worked it up her leg. There were all sorts of catcalls being thrown out at them, but Joey could hardly hear them. He was so focused on this; who would blame him, being a young male and having never done something like this with his girlfriend before...he was going to relish the moment while he could. He pulled the garter up to about mid-thigh before thinking that perhaps it was a bit much. Biting his lip, he pulled himself back upright before pulling Rosie into his arms. The entire moment--it was strange, but something felt comfortable about it. He liked it, as embarrassing as it was. He brushed some stray hair out of her face before leaning in to kiss her--which turned into more of a snog than anything but what did Joey care? He wasn't paying attention to the rest of the crowd at that moment.

This was one of those times where she wished they could just be alone because this was one of those things where they hadn't done anything and this would be about the furthest he ever got with her, which sounded only pathetic slightly. No booze was in her system but at the moment? She could have used a very stiff drink to get through this! No, no, no! No drinking. She'd just stand there and let this happen so that it could be over with. Not that it was bad thing! It was just--

Oh, hell. Rosie didn't know what to think anymore, so all she could do was just stand there and let him take charge of the situation. Her breath seemed to catch in her throat as he touched her ankle then her leg then higher. The catcalls were not missed by her, only causing her to blush a little more but she was also smiling because hey, his hand felt nice against her skin like that. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she let his hand wander the next time they kissed.. But she shook her head mentally as she got dragged into his arms. Her eyes went wide, her hands touched his shoulders and before she could utter the protest that was forming on her lips, he was kissing it away. Oh, damn. This was a good kiss -- a very good kiss.

The kiss progressed and she almost let herself fall into it but the catcalls pulled her from it and she turned her head away from his. "Joey," she whispered, gently pushing him back, "not here. Not where... everyone can watch."

"Ah--right. Sorry," he murmured, placing a kiss on her forehead. There was a gentle swell of music as a slow song started up. They were already standing so close and--he gently grabbed her right hand in his left and placed his right hand on her waist, hoping that she wouldn't mind that they were just going to dance and--well, he was okay with it, but he was worried that she might feel uncomfortable now. It was strange, but the alcohol in his system was making him more aware of things. Of how nice her hair smelt, how pretty she looked--he noticed these things before, but now? It was all he could think about! He hummed the song softly before leaning down to give her another gentle kiss. He didn't care what everyone else thought--fuck'em.

"Are you excited about heading to Ireland after this?" he asked softly, his thumb running back and forth over the fleshy bit on her hand between her thumb and index finger. He certainly was excited to have the extra time around her--maybe they could get some more practice at all this--no. She would probably be uncomfortable with that, wouldn't she? And he didn't want her to feel awkward during her visit. That certainly would not be any fun.

There was just something about Joey when he had alcohol in his system -- not that she minded that he was drinking and she wasn't. He seemed more attentive than when he was sober which was something because he was attentive then too. It just seemed different now with the way he held her hand and touched her waist, swaying slightly to the music. It was all quite nice, really. Her eyes closed when he started to hum, letting herself get closer to him so that she could rest her head against his chest comfortably. This was nice, new, exciting. It made her think--

But her thoughts were interrupted when he spoke again which caused her to open her eyes and step back some so that she could look at him. "Hm? Oh yes, I can't wait to go to Ireland," she said just as softly back, smiling up at him. It would be nice to have some time alone with him in his home where no one could bother them. Maybe they would -- okay. No, they couldn't! It would be nice, but she was no where near ready for something like that. "I've never been before so I'm anxious to see what it looks like."

Awww, he'd liked it when she was resting her head on his chest and--and now she wasn't and it made him sad! He wouldn't say anything about it of course, but he didn't mind holding her so close and dancing so close to her. "I think you'll really like it," he replied, now thinking of all the things he wanted to do and show to her. Hopefully their family guest room was in sorts and she wouldn't have to deal with a mess (he would be so upset with his mam if that was the case)...he really hoped that things were good.

"You looked lovely today, during the ceremony," he added after a while. "I mean, I know the day's supposed to technically be all about Ashlyn, but...it was hard to pay attention," he confessed softly. And he meant it. It was strange, being in the chapel and just wondering if they would make it that far as a couple--and then wondering if that was a strange thought to have. He'd never thought about marriage much in the past, it was such a long way away for him he believed and...they had only been together for a few months now, there was no need to rush.

How far things had progressed with Joey was progress and a lot for Rosie, considering she never really trusted any guy before -- her dad had made sure of that. Everything that had gone wrong in her past seemed to link up to either him or some other guy, so marriage was definitely not on her mind right now. Far from it, actually! They were together and happy as they were -- that was good enough for her now. They didn't need to rush into things so quickly. "I'm sure I'll like it. I mean, why wouldn't I?" It was going to be fun to be able to see Ireland and where he grew up since she had hardly ever been outside of England save for school.

She laughed softly, blushing just a bit at his confession. "I... thank you," she whispered. "And look at you, all handsome and such." Her hand that was wrapped around his shoulder went up to rest against his neck, her fingers lightly playing with the hair at the base of his neck.

Not rushing was probably for the best. In Joey's mind, rushing into marriage meant one of two things. Either you were rushing to get away from something because you couldn't bare to deal with the stress of coping with that particular change, or you were rushing to save your ass in one way or another; a family dispute, an unwanted baby, whatever it may be. It was very simple for Joey to see, however, that he and Rosie had neither of those issues. Certainly no problems with pregnancy, and as far as he knew there were no difficult circumstances with which they needed to deal.

He gave her a wink, "Aye, it's a quality all we Irishmen possess. The ability to take birds's breath away." He leaned in for another quick kiss, unable to resist at the feeling of her fingers on his neck. His hand on her waist moved ever so slightly downward, more unconscious than purposefully. Hey, no one said that he was fully capable of containing himself whilst drunk!
