The buzz at the door reminded Dexter of why she had lost her place in the first place to get her journal. She wasn't completely sure that Peter was at all interested, he seemed like a really nice bloke, and there weren't many of those around, especially given his friends. Dexter found a dry quill and balanced it in the right place, to hold her spot and hoped it would stay that way. The book was huge, taking up most of the kitchen table. They would probably have to eat in the kitchen, which was fine. It had just been cleaned the other day, sort of. There were dishes in the sink, ew. Dexter flicked her wand at them and they set about cleaning themselves and she nodded to herself, waiting for Peter to knock on her door.
With a quick stop at the mirror to fix her bangs, Dexter bounced over to the door, grabbing one of the kneazles that sometimes lived there, to keep him from escaping and opened the door with a grin, "Hiya!" she said cheerfully, before eyeing the bag and raising her eyebrow. "That's a pretty big bag, did you loot a store?" she asked, stepping aside and closing the door behind him. She set the animal down and snickered as it slinked off, winding around Peter's feet before going away to sulk.
It was her brother's pet, he lived here too. Her flat was a cozy three bedroom with a kitchen-adjacent-living room and the third room used as a sort of study. It was just a room with a table covered in papers and books. In the flat itself, there were maps and charts plastered all over the walls, their telly telly, but it had been turned into a pet-cage stand – there was no use for it really. They had an owl each and some other nifty pets in cages on the telly. An experiment station was set up near the bay window behind the television, where there are a number of strange looking plants growing in different cups, pots and devices. Dexter waved for Peter to follow her in to the kitchen, since the table in the living room was taken up by a very large book.
"I'm glad you came!" Dex said, pulling a couple of plates down from the cabinet for them to eat off of.
