eliza g. diggle ([info]elizaddled) wrote in [info]valesco,
Eliza's head shot up from the book she was reading and a slow grin crossed her face. Aha, she'd been caught. But, she didn't mind and merely shrugged, lifting the book up so that Dedalus could read the cover, What a Witch Should Expect When She's Expecting a Wizard. "Be proud! I did not buy anything blue."

She bought red and gold things, but she hadn't bought any blue. It was not her fault that her Gryffindor pride had roared up when she'd spotted the cutest pair of striped itty bitty socks. Eliza was now beginning to understand that deep embedded desire some women had to shop. She just needed someone she really wanted to buy things for, that was all. Hopefully Dedalus wouldn't go snooping around looking for her purchases, but she was quite good at hiding things when she wanted to. Elliot still couldn't find his toy truck from his ninth birthday, after he'd rolled it over her foot.

While her mind was jumping around from topic to topic to random topic lately, one thing stayed constantly in the forefront of her mind: Baby Blue Boy Diggle. It will be much easier to talk about him once he had a name, but for now Eliza couldn't stop herself from rambling on to the people who knew, or even to herself. Or, well, to the baby. Her book said that he'd be able to hear her in a few weeks, so she wanted to get an early start.

Maybe when she was showing a little more, people wouldn't think she was crazy for talking to 'herself.'

"It says that he has fingerprints now!" Eliza felt herself swell with pride, and she dropped the book onto the bed to put her hands on her small (but significant!) bump. She was wearing a rather loose fitting shirt, but she pulled it tight against her with her hands. Ooh, aha--"Isn't that amazing?"
