Who: Ludo Bagman and Ralph Merridew
Where: Hallways
When: Thursday afternoon

The week before Quidditch matches was always intense, at least for Ludo. It wasn't has if there was a huge rivalry between Gryffindor and Hufflpeuff, but this game could make or break a team's chances at the cup. They both needed a big win to compete with the damn Claws. Ludo probably needed this more than anyone with the stupid bet he'd put on his own team. He was distracted by nerves and thoughts as he walked through teh hallway and didn't notice the large group of Gryffindors heading his way, Ralph Merridew among them. Play practice ever since he'd snogged Miranda had been interesting to say the least, and Ralph didn't really care to have anything to do with Ludo...which he could really care less about. It was Ralph's own damn fault for breaking up with Miranda and if he was stupid enough to assume that she wasn't free game then that was his problem.

At first, Ralph hadn't seen Ludo at all. Being surrounded by all these Gryffinors (who weren't talking to him, interestingly enough, just blockading him from the rest of the world) had sort of distracted and cut off his view of entire corridor, save bits and patches in front of him. But when he finally did see Ludo, Ralph couldn't help but put on an aggravated look.

Look at him, just--- walking like that with that stupid smirk on his stupid face. It was like he wanted the whole world to--- to--- Ralph didn't know. But he did know that every time he saw Ludo, he could feel his blood rise higher and higher. Rehearsals were ridiculous; Ralph knew he couldn't say anything there, but oh, how many times he had come this close to just punching Ludo in the face.

And-- and--- oh, that smug bastard, he was going to walk right into him, wasn't he? Bagman would, just to get a rise out of Ralph. Well--- well-- As Ludo finally walked close enough to him, Ralph didn't hesitate one bit in raising his arm and pushing on Ludo's shoulder toward the wall.

"Get out of my way," he snapped.

Oh, oh, so they were playing that game, were they? "What the hell, Merridew?!" He barked out in anger, shooting daggers at the other boy across from him. He should have found the entire situation amusing and...well, he was actually a threat to Ralph. Too bad Ludo was too thick to do anything past physical lashing out. He hadn't felt a growing anger towards Ralph--after all, he was the one who'd gotten the snog--but he could tell that Ralph was just seething. Ludo returned right back to Ralph, face inches away from his. "Do you have a problem?"

Ralph stopped walking, and turned to face Ludo. What, did Bagman expect for them to be friends? They had never been friends before, so why should they start now? His eyes turned into two tight slits as Ludo approached him, and Ralph puffed out his chest slightly. Bloody berk. He didn't even have the advantage of being taller than him--- they were roughly the same height. No matter, Bagman had flew easily enough when he pushed him, this wouldn't be too much of a problem.

"Why don't you get out of my face," Ralph spat, pushing on Ludo's chest to back him away. At that point, he wasn't even thinking that most likely people were watching at this point, and they were going to get in trouble and someone was probably going to go away with a bloody nose. But, no no. Right now the only thing Ralph could focus on was how bloody ugly Ludo's face was.

Ludo didn't hesitate from shoving Ralph back, and hard. "Step down and I will," he growled back, feeling his blood boil as he stood there with Ralph. He didn't want to be friends, not by any means. He just didn't appreciate being pushed around by some...Gryffindor. "Or I can make you if you'd rather go that route." He was completely serious about that threat. Ralph was the one that started the fight, Ludo was more than willing to be the one to finish it.

Skidding back, it only took Ralph a few seconds to regain his balance and step forward again to meet Ludo. Was Bagman serious? Really. Ralph couldn't help but give out a small chuckle. What could he possibly make him do? Really? Bagman was just some.... random Hufflepuff that no one really cared about in the long run. Ralph, on the other hand--- well, he wouldn't go into that now, he was in a rough patch.

Ralph's face grew hard has he pushed Ludo again, and again. "Like you could really do anything," he viciously pointed it, pushing Ludo for a third time in a row. At this point, Ralph did notice that people were circling around them, and their voices were getting louder. But he didn't care--- and it didn't matter.

Ludo rolled his eyes. "Whatever. At least I don't run off on people and not say a damn thing about it," he replied, putting all his weight into one final shove at Ralph. "You broke up with her, Merridew. Deal with it." Ludo, of course, was fully aware that Miranda didn't belong to him either, but he didn't think it was right for Ralph to lark about beating people up over his ex that he could have stayed with if he'd really given two fucks.

Even as Ralph was pushed back again and nearly to the ground, he felt his body begin to really boil and his hands clutch together tight, almost like an extended claw. What the-- what the--- how dare he even--- that fucking little--- What the fuck! What the-- what the--- Ralph couldn't even think, he was so angry.

For a few moments, Ralph didn't move. Most likely because he couldn't; he was too paralyzed with the fact that Bagman had actually said what he had said to him. What fucking little bastard! Breathing deeply, Ralph watched Ludo with his smirking little face, and his stupid little--- everything.

Alright. At this point, he could get expelled for all he cared, Ralph was going to beat the shit out of this kid.

And he didn't break up with her, they-- they--- ugh! It infuriated Ralph even more that he couldn't shoot down Ludo in his head, so he wasted little time lunging at the boy, ready to punch his bloody face in.

Davy wasn't Ralph's keeper - well, technically he was, since he was the Keeper for the Gryffindor team but in the actions outside of class, as a rule, Davy didn't like to meddle in his friends affairs, and only did when it seemed like they weren't going to figure it out on their own. Which sometimes happened, but when the jeopardy of getting to play in the match or winning the cup was at stake, then it was as team captain that Davy did have to muddle. Plus, he really hated Ludo Bagman.

A light shoving match was fine, but when Ralph went into his murder-mode, which Davy could tell from behind before the lunging even began and with his clearly 'superior' reflexes (or just being close enough to catch him) Davy dropped his books and jumped in front of Ralph, catching him around the waist and leaning his shoulder into his friend's chest, to keep them from crashing into the stupid Hufflepuff. Even though he really really wanted to let him just make hamburger out of the so-called pretty boy's face.

"Ralph!" Davy said harshly into the other boy's ear, "Save it for the game!" he said a little quieter, because even though they were sort of planning the skirt thing, clearly something else needed to happen instead.

"Bagman," Davy turned his head to glare at Ludo. "You better get the fuck out of here before I let him go and join with him."

"Just remember he's the one that bloody started it, Gudgeon," Ludo replied harshly as he pushed roughly through the circle of people that were watching. He was so over everything that was going on. Four months...Ludo only had to put up with the bullshit ghat happened for four more months and then he'd be done. He could get out of the school and away from everyone. He felt the overwhelming urge to punch something but saved it for the Hufflepuff common room; punching the stone walls of the corridor wouldn't do him any good and he knew it.

What--- what--- he had been this close to Bagman's face, to the point where he was sure he'd get away with something and then bloody-- he didn't even know who it was that had managed to jump in front of him, because all that Ralph was focusing on was Ludo. And now, now--- he was being dragged away? What the hell, what the hell. He was going to beat him, Ralph had already made up his mind and there was no changing it. Ralph restrained against Davy (Davy! DAVY!), trying to push his way through but to no avail.

"Let me go, Gudgeon!" Ralph raged, pushing at his friend's arms. Just one punch, one kick--- something. He watched as Ludo slowly started to retreat from their area, yelling away. Ralph didn't hear that he had said, but no doubt it was something equally enraging as before. He let out deep breaths of air, still pushing at Davy to let go of him. Ludo was long gone at this point, and eventually, he broke free.

"Let go," Ralph repeated, more viciously than needed, and skidded away from Davy. He wasn't--- well no, he was a bit mad that Davy had come in and broken everything up but--- ugh, people were still staring, weren't they?

Davy snorted at Ralph's rage - what, it was kind of funny how bent out of shape he was - not that Davy wouldn't be that or more angry if this had happened between him and Ellie, but it hadn't so he was allowed to find it funny. Davy held onto Ralph for as long as possible, just to make sure his friend didn't go charging after the fucking Hufflepuff prat. When Ralph got free, Davy chuckled again, stopping to pick up the scattered books and bags.

"Sorry sunshine, I just needed a hug," Davy joked, nudging some first year out of the way. "YOU LOT, SCRAM!" he shouted at the rest of the group, using his best Quidditch voice. Yelling seemed to work and with the grumbles of not seeing a fight, the crowd dispersed reluctantly. After he was sure everyone else was moving off, Davy followed after Ralph, hoping to not catch him trying to find another way to beat Ludo in the corridors.
