There was something wrong; the severity of it was lost to her, but there was definitely something off. Mackenzie hadn't spent half her life intently watching people for nothing. She was excellent in detecting other's moods, hence why she had gotten such a less-than-nasty reputation in school like other people she knew. It was very hard to just ignore a person crying out for help, whether it from helping terminate a mental break down or something so simple as giving directions to a lost first year. Call her too empathetic, but she had never been able to help it.

For a brief moment, Mackenzie contemplated holding her tongue. Did she really want to hear whatever Evan was willing to divulge? What if it was--- no, no, no matter how dire it was, she was very certain Evan would never tell her certain things. So that could only lead her to believe that, perhaps, he was struggling with something internally? Again, unlikely; Evan was hardly the one to seem to struggle with anything in life.

"Am I not allowed to express how I feel?" she sighed, her arms dropping back away to her sides. "You worry me." Regardless of what he did or didn't want her to see, Mackenzie knew Evan too well, and he vise versa, so for either of them to hide much without the other knowing was difficult to achieve. Choosing to ignore what they saw was a whole other subject entirely.

"You look not right," Mackenzie said, her lips pulling back. "Do not dismiss my concern with lies."
