Feeling her hands slip away from his was a disappointment for merely a moment, because where they went next made up for it. He met her half way, leaning in on his own as a hand slipped behind her neck, his fingers sliding through her hair, the hand other still wrapped around her waist. It still got to him, the way he stomach fluttered whenever they kissed. It had been happening ever since he got up the nerve to kiss her after that horribly amazing play.
When she pulled back, his eyes immediately opened to stare into hers, looking upset to see the tears in her eyes; though he smiled when she finished what she wanted to say. “…don’t forget Jesus, and his amazing falsetto…” He smirked down at her and then leaned forward to give her a brief kiss before he reluctantly parted with her again. “I can’t believe it’s been 3 years...3 years since you walked into that Diner. You were the only good thing that came from working there…” He lifted his hand to brush her hair behind her ear, careful not to ruin it. “…you’re also the best thing that came out of leaving.” It was true, as corny as it sounded.
