It would have been giving his brother too little credit, Amery supposed, to imagine he'd notice neither Amery's slowly diminishing appearances at family events and dinners, not to mention his new habits of checking clocks, fixing clothing (more so than before, at any rate), excusing himself from places early, and whatever other peculiar behaviors he had developed.

"It must be the season changing," he said lightly, a patronizing smile forming as he folded his arms. "I hear that sort of thing can be incredibly detrimental to the mental health of some. Something about lack of sunlight."
