There were only a few reasons why Lance would need to go to the ministry and he had two today. One, to steal Liam away for lunch from whatever meeting he'd gotten himself dragged into and two, to pay his taxes. So...he was a little late, so what? There wasn't much income he could actually report and he didn't have a wizarding job, but they asked for money and Lance really kind of liked his freedom and not losing all of his money. He couldn't get away with not paying, because he had a bank account and they would find that and ask what he did and that would lead to a whole different mess and so Lance came down in person to pay and whatever fee he'd incurred for being late and lazy. Only saying you ran your own business required filling out forms, which Lance did not have nor have them filled out. So he was trekking to a different department to get those forms filled out and approved - this was getting way to involved and probably why he'd avoided doing so in the first place.

He should have gone with Liam's suggestion and filed for unemployment, but no, apparently Lance was too smart for his own good and got stuck in situations like this. Lost in the ministry! It shouldn't have been that hard to get to where he was going, two lefts, a right, two more lefts and four rights and a curve after getting off the lifts. Or was that two rights and a left? Lance sighed and decided to give up trying to find his way - there wasn't anyone to ask, everyone seemed to bustle along with their tasks, so he stopped in the middle of a corridor to read some of the posted materials. It made him look like he was doing something and it gave him time to calm down and figure out what he was going to do next. He was throughly lost, so he couldn't just go find Liam, and he didn't want to do it in this mindset because it would require explaining his reaction to people and this is why he didn't come into public all that often. Lance crossed his arms over his chest and bit his lip to keep from crying. In frustration of course, he didn't cry at the drop of a hat, anymore. He really needed to get out of here, sod filing taxes, he could get Liam to do it for him.

Jolene :]
It would become obvious enough that Santiago was shifting his cases and moving up appointments for a reason. A few weeks ago, it could have been about Zacharias, but now with his nephew safe at home, Santiago was just hoping that the nurses and fellow healers didn't notice the times he was changing his rounds to, or the location of the patients he was visiting and checking up on.

Of course, Santiago made sure that all of this was legal. He did not want anyone to think that he was going around messing up schedules for no real reason, even though it was going to become painfully obvious that it was about a woman. Sue him---he'd never done anything like this before, so there was no track record to annoy him with.

The door to Jolene's room was open and thankfully empty save for the woman herself. Santiago had figured out quite quickly that she was the sister of one of the biggest quidditch stars in the game, and he did not want to have to deal with a giant of a man while he was trying to get into the good graces of his sister.

"And how are we doing today, Ms. Flint?" Santiago asked from behind his face mask, keeping his head down at his chart as he entered the room, and coming around the side of her bed. He fiddled with some of the floating x-rays beside her before looking down. Deus, even sickly she looked pretty (really pretty---this was going to get him in trouble), and Santiago turned to face her fully, but ended up knocking over the glass of water on her side table. He'd been so very clumsy these past few days! "Er---sorry."

Bertram!
Anneliese heaved a deep sigh, letting the book she had been attempting to read fall down onto the table. This was just--- why was Bertram still sitting here? She had yet to figure out why he was sitting across from her at the same table, even after a few minutes of obvious silence. Well, at least he hadn't done anything...yet. But no boy, let alone one the likes of Bertram Aubrey simply sat at a table in the library to read. Or do nothing. Even Will, when he had been in school, had never been mild-mannered enough to simply read. Well. Maybe that was a bit different, because they had been dating during that time, but.

She sat back in her chair, face giving a twitch of misunderstanding. He must really be reading. Or pretending to read. Either way, he was doing a very good job of convincing her of what he wasn't, or was, doing. Alright, she couldn't take it anymore.

"Are you really reading that?" Anneliese asked, leaning forward in her chair to prop her elbows on the table. Why was she even talking to him? Ugh, no, she knew that reason; because he was interesting.
